I've been playing Zelda The Ocarina of Time lately, how many have actually beaten it?

So I played this back when it first came out and never beat it, don't remember how far I got. But after getting all excited about the twilight princess I dug it up and have been playing it recently.

I'm about half way through right now, Water Temple, and have been playing it the entire time with the guide out. There are certain parts of the game, where there are no clues and the only way to continue with the dungeon/stage is with guide.

So that leads me to my question how many have actually beat Zelda The Ocarina of Time? With or without a guide?
and for those zelda experts how many of the zelda's have you actually beaten?

and I also want one of these:

I beat it. Water Temple is a pain in the ass! Never would have gotten through that without the guide in front of me.

I beat the game without a guide when it was new. Water Temple was a total bitch.

I beat it not long after it came out, although I remember needing to look up a guide online, in a few different places including the water temple.

Also beat it, and also hated the Water Temple with a passion.

I hate video games and was obssessed with this game about 7 years ago. I didn't have a guide to use, but I'd call my friend who beat it whenever I got stuck. Beat it on the first try also....I remember it was actually very easy to fight the last guy (whatever his name was)

I beat it with some help of the net.
But I didn't care to get all of those little golden things.

I beat this years ago on the N64 without strategy guide. Obviously did not complete all there is to complete without guide but still proud of the fact I beat it without one.

Beat it w/o a guide, however I was 5 "piece of heart" pieces short and had to look online for those.

Finished missing one "piece of heart." That damn 20lb fish! Never could catch that bad boy.

Beat both it and Master Quest (several times) without guides, neither needed it.

Maybe I could see checking something if you're stuck and out of gas.. or maybe after you're done and want to find those last couple pieces of heart or something or some of the asinine secrets.. but what is the point of playing a game with the guide open at all times?

I only needed the guide on ONE damn part in, of course, the water temple. Sometimes I overlook the simplest things, like a door I thought I had already gone through, but other than that I didn't need a guide to beat it. LOVED that game, and now I feel like going back and beating it again.

I beat it, but sadly I had to use the net for one part:
Spoiler:
The dude whose daughter gets kidnapped, and you have to show him the message in the bottle. I tried everything except showing him the message. Why? Because the message explicitly states: "Don't tell my dad!"
Yes, I'm an idiot.

Beat it w/o a guide on the N64. I remember the Water Temple WAS extremely frustrating, and I think I even started over on a different save a few times for that one, but I did eventually beat it.

I got it free with Windwaker... didn't beat it, though. I think I made it to some rock people on top of the mountain or something. Is that very far into the game?

Uhh, not at all, really.

You run into them twice in the game, once fairly early on, and again a little bit later, but neither time is anywhere near the end.

I beat it back in the day...and I didn't have a guide...or at least I don't remember needing one. I do remember getting stuck a few times, but always sorted it out eventually through trial and error.

Best. Game. Ever.

I beat it, using GameFAQs a handful of times (that was back when GameFAQs was just starting up IIRC). My brother got a guide for it (why, I don't know why), and I used it to find the gold spider things, becuase those were ridiculously tough to find. Never did get 100% though. Hoping it comes out on the VC for the Wii so I can do that.

I bought it and played it for about a month straight, but didn't finish it. I stopped playing it and started playing it againg just before Majora's Mask came out and finished it. I remember upon completing it thinking that this was one of the best games I've ever played. I played through the game again this past summer on my Gamecube and my opinion still holds that this is one of the finest games ever produced.

I'm playing it now on the Cube for the first time. And I'm not all that impressed so far. I've had to use the net some, in part b/c I go several days without playing it and forget where I'm at.

I thought I'd give this game a chance to try to get into adventure/rpgs...but it's not working. I used to love rpgs back in the days of Phantasy Star but for whatever reason I no longer have the patience for them. It seems like Ocarina there is too much walking around hoping to find whatever. Maybe I just suck and are not getting the clues.

I'm borderline retarded when it comes to rpgs, so I only got about 1/3 of the way through this. I still have my N64 set up with Paper Mario about 1/4 of the way through. I've probably spent much more time than you'd imagine.

Same here. I didn't end up with all the hearts, but I did end up beating it on my own.
