  • All New Release DVDs are listed as being available on 5/9/06

Ask any questions and I'll try to reply as soon as I can.

A moment of your time before we begin please. I just want to state for the record that last week’s e-mail attacks via my home e-mail address was totally unwarranted and uncalled for. I am truly sorry that some of you have chosen to attack ME in this manner when some DVD deal or price-matching scheme goes awry or is rejected for one reason or another. Please keep in mind that I report what I see, collate available data and try to list what are actual deals that will save you money; as well point out other lesser deals that might appeal to only a few. As such, I have ZERO control over what a BB, CC or Target manager will allow in terms of a DVDTalker getting a good / great deal. How could I?

That being said, I am grateful for the few souls who chose to comment on the situation both in the Bargains thread as well as those who sent word of encouragement to me via e-mail. I could disallow e-mails from DVDTalk but I feel that by making myself available in this manner that I might help someone who might be to afraid to post in the Forum or wants to ask me specifics of an item that might be listed in one of my threads. I have made the acquaintance of quite a few people by them reaching out to me privately and I am glad that I was able to help. I still encourage you to reach out to me in this manner if you so desire.

That in a nutshell is how I see my weekly threads to you, my DVDTalk bretheren: My attempt to help YOU save some hard earned money. In this day of rising gas prices, illegal immigrants demanding rights that only real citizens possess, and rampant crimes against each other; aren’t there MORE IMPORTANT things to debate / attack rather than me? I believe that there are.

Please be aware that I enjoy reporting to you all on a weekly basis BUT I cannot allow another instance of what happened last week. Should it re-occur, I will forward all e-mails / addresses to the moderators who watch this forum. Thereafter, I will then remove myself to another website and see if other folks can maintain a civil head and appreciate what one of their own is doing for THEIR benefit.

Thank you all for allowing me to comment publicly on what was a hurtful situation to me. {Stepping off soapbox now}

Your friend / reporter,

Speedy1961

Wow. Great prices on dvds from CC. I'm definitely getting Election for $7.49 and looks like they're the cheapest on the Chili Peppers new album.

My local CC still has the original cover, so I'll have to get that, but Tracy Flick can put a smile on anyone's face.

Hey speedy, sorry you had to endure a few douchebags attacking your e-mail. It never ceases to amaze me the lack of gratitude of some people. Don't let a few bad apples get you down and keep posting these deals-my Circuit City flyer has been MIA the past few weeks and this thread is a lifesaver.

Hey Speedy(and you definitely live up to that title!!), I don't often post; but I had to say thanks for ALL the hard work you do. I know it has to be very time consuming to post not 1, not 2, but 3 circulars consisting of all the DVD deals(plus any extras you might add).
Your time and effort has paid off for probably everyone in this forum who reads your posts. It is truely hard to believe that some people are that ungrateful.
I for one, hope you stick around and keep up the great work!!

Thanks again!

I guess I just feel like handling things like this does nothing to discourage the jerks that wrote the email. You all can disagree and tell Speedy how pretty he is but that's not going to stop those idiots from emailing him next time. Responding to them via email or reporting them to the moderators might.

Once again a BIG THANK YOU speedy from all of CheapAssGamer.com. Very appriciated.

One question however... you listed a Zelda game for the Gamecube... is it Wind Waker or Four Swords that is on sale? Again, many thanks. Don't let a few asshats let you down as many more people love you for giving us these big head ups.

You know the video game pics for both CC / Target were a bit difficult (read: fuzzy) as I was looking at them . I'll look under magnifying glass tomorrow and see If I can narrow it down.

Circs are not where I'm at the moment but I will get back to you.

Thanks Doc Brown for all your efforts. I'll be picking up Nanny McPhee at CC probably. I've got Towering Inferno SE & Poseidon Adventure SE coming from Amazon. Same $12.99 price as CC but no tax, free shipping & $5 off when bought together which makes them $10.49 each. I don't think any B&M can beat that price & the dvdtalk reviews of both SEs are as good as you can get.

Speedy, I just want to say thanks for all your hard work on the ads every week. If you need me to break some knee-caps, I would be more than happy to . Nice price on Paper Mario for the Gamecube as well.
