Differences between Etymotic Research ER6i and ER6's?

...Other than the color? Will I notice a difference? I'm not really an audiophile, but I'm tired of cheap earbud earphones. I need something that will seal out sound from airplanes and the subway.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appeciated as well... thanks!

BTW, I've seen this page too: http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/epcomp.aspx

I'm mostly concerned about comfort/fit, durability, and ability to use in every day situations, on the plane, tube, walking to work, working out, etc...thanks

ER6i was designed primarily for the Ipod. Supposedly they were designed with slightly more efficient driver that gives slight volume benefit over the ER6. I have the ER6 and have used them with all sorts of portable devices, MP3, PSP, XM Airware, Portable DVD, Laptop with great success. They work very well on airplanes, I also use them while mowing. Public places scare me a little due to the lack of ability to hear much of what is going on around you.

If you don't mind the bulkiness, over the ear headphones is the way to go.

Check grado labs. The SR60 is great
