Where do you buy your dvd's?

Just curious where everyone else purchases their dvd's and/or finds the best deals.

I get a most of mine from Deep Discount DVD. My bargain titles are usually from Wal-Mart. A few used copies from Blockbuster whenever I'm in there.

Mostly BestBuy/Circuit City for new releases...

BestBuy/Circuit City for "catalog" / in stock titles, like 2 for $10, $7.50 each that type of deal.

MovieStop for used titles.

I usually go about 1/2 - 1/2 new releases and cheap titles, with a run once every two months or so at a used place like MovieStop.

99.999% from Amazon.com - they are one of the few companies which will ship to me here in Japan without blinking an eye. Shipping charges are reasonable seeing as I generally order about 6 at a time every couple of months. My billing address and shipping address are not the same - billing address is in the USA and shipping address is here in Japan, this gives most compaines a heart attack and they refuse to ship, claiming that they are trying to protect me from fraudulent use of my credit card - and that's despite the fact that this Japan address is ON FILE with my credit card company as an alternate shipping address!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway - mostly from Amazon.com!

I get most stuff through Columbia House, and what I can't get through there I'll usually just ask for at b-day/xmas time, though I will occassionally get something from DDD or used at secondspin if it's a particular good deal, or if I really want it for some reason.

I'm with ShagMan.

Although about once a quarter I check the local pawn shops. Sometimes I come up empty.... other times I come up BIG!

Mostly my street vendor in downtown NYC. All legit sealed retail $15 no tax. That goes for the recent 2 disc release versions like Goblet of Fire, King Kong and Walk the Line. Great deals on video games as well.

Best Buy - 20th St and Camelback every Tuesday. Same cashier. (She price matches for me without any hassles. Usually to Fry's or Circuit City.)

Why Best Buy? $725 in Reward Zone coupons and counting!

By far the most from DDD, a fair amount probably about 20% of my total collection from Columbia House. A lot of sets I get from Amazon, because I get those $25 certs from my credit card.

Columbia House for all high-MSRP items (mostly 2-disc SE and some sets)
DDD sales for Buena Vista, Disney, Fox and low MSRP items
Amazon sales on low MSRP titles
Best Buy, Circuit City, Tower or WalMart B&M when they have B1G1 or 2-packs, or if I want a title right away

Costco - Mainly TV box sets as regular DVDs are $3-4 more than CC or BB

Best Buy - Regular DVDs in first week of release. I price match to CC's ad for other deals.

DDD - Mainly Criterion sales and other regular DVD sales

Amazon - Occasionally buy it from them if its the cheapest around (I'm also still on the Amazon Prime free trial)

Tower.com - Only have ordered twice but have been impressed as I've gotten the DVDs a day before it was released in the stores...

Vast majority from ColumbiaHouse. For the minimal account hassle, you can't beat the $5-6 averages.

DDD 20% sales for others not avail thru CH like Disney/BuenaVista, Fox.

Last option is a local Walmart, BestBuy or Costco with good release week deals.

Anything I can obtain through Columbia House, I get from there.

The other titles I want, I will get mostly from DDD sales. I also tend to buy a lot of mis-priced titles from various vendors for little reason other than they are mispriced.

I buy most of my new releases from Best Buy, and if they're not the cheapest B&M, I'll do a PM (for RZ points).

For catalog titles and Criterions, I usually shop at DDD or Digital Eyes.

And then I hit up used stores several times a week looking for anything I may have missed, or a good deal here and there.

Have you checked any of the WalMarts in the Valley? I get a lot of my new releases there as they usually beat Frys by a dollar or more. Which is better than a price match, IMHO.

Unfortunately, WalMart's DVD release day sale pricing is very inconsistant from store to store. Stores relatively close to one another will vary by five bucks or more. In fact, the Anthem WalMart is nearest to me and hasn't had a release day sale price on anything , yet the one at Happy Valley Rd is among the lowest.

I suppose it's because there's a Circuit City and a Barnes & Noble at Happy Valley and nothing similar at Anthem.

Otherwise, I generally get my DVDs at Frys. Although I don't make a habit of going there regularly, sometimes I'll also find a good deal at Target, but I think they're bit like WalMart with inconsistant pricing.

The majority of mine are bought at Best Buy.
For new releases it is usually BB, CC or Target depending on who has it for the cheapest.
