I saw the $10 gift card advertised at my local ToysRUs but didn't ask how much they were selling the 2 DVD's for. Are you sure that they will be $15 each or is that $15 after you've already paid the $5 deposit.

$10 each ($30 for both minus $10 gift card) would be a no-brainer for me.

just thought I'd mention the 5 dollar reservations have to be done I believe by February 28th or something.

the price on the back of the reservation is 14.99 but thats after the 5 dollars down, so both movies as of now will be 19.99 a piece, but you get a 10 dollar gift card for reserving both. the price might be lower than 19.99 the day both come out so it might be even cheaper.

essentially at 19.99 you'd be paying 15 bucks + tax for them.

I'm pretty sure that Toys R Us price matches so most stores will probably have at least The Incredibles for $14.99 or $15.99. Bambi may be that price but for some reason I think that it'll be $17.99 at Best Buy/Circuit City.

The other advantage is that you can use the $10 gift card towards Bambi and The Incredibles by the time you pick them up.

That is if only they give you the GC now The fact is that they will give it to you until they are released.

THey definately do have a PM poilicy, but they can be total bastards about it. For me, they wouldn't lower the price of Mulan since I got a little stuffed dragon with my pre-order. I'd bet they'd count the gift card the same way, but I suppose it's worth a try. You have nothing to lose except the preorder tickets.

does anyone know if after i gave them the $5 to preorder and then on pickup day i try to price match and they refuse, would i be able to cancel the order altogether and get my $5 back? or does the preorder mean i must buy it or lose the $5 deposit?

According to their signs in the store, customer would receive the $10 GC upon reservation. I didn't go for it because I already have The Incredibles reserved at Gamestop.

I worked at Toy R Us recentily and very briefily. They PM even if you pre-order it. Just bring in the ad for them. I did it for Mulan and still got my dragon.

but as someone asked, would TRU say that this offer does not qualify since they are giving you a $10 GC? that's the key!

If TRU won't accept the GC when you pick up your reserved titles, you can always use it on October's Platinum release. There is usually a deal for that one, too.

Hey, I've worked at Toys R Us for over 8 years now....

You CAN return your deposits if you wish to do so at anytime before or after it comes out. They WILL have a lower price than the 19.99 it says (14.99 after the 5 dollar deposit) during that first week. They are promising and we are to tell our customers that we will have the LOWEST price, which is USUALLY 15.99-14.99 for the first week. It NEVER is really the lowest price, as Walmart usually beats us out by a few cents of course. Even if it's 15.99 and most are 14.99, you still get the 10 buck giftcard, you are basically getting BOTH movies for 20 bucks!

Here's the break down: Lets say the movies are 15 each when they come out with our marked down price during the first week. That's 30 bucks total. You put down 10 bucks, 5 each, but then you get the 10 buck giftcard (which was yoru deposit), that brings your total really to 20 bucks for BOTH. Good deal.

And they ARE expecting people to price match.

The 20 bucks for both is ONLY if you can use the giftcard as part of your final payment. A previous poster was told he couldn't. Do you have any insight on this?

I think it's still going to be $30 for both, not 20. You are paying $10 for the GC so that has to be added into the total. The reserve tickets they give you specifically say "Bal. due - $14.99"

If you are paying $10 and then getting it back via the gift card, you are in effect not paying $10. but the $14.99 balance per DVD is still outstanding for a total of $30 ($29.98 if you're technical) before taxes.

It is NOT $20 for both. don't let TRU tell you otherwise!

edit: IF you're allowed to use it to pay for the preorders when you pick it up, THEN that would make them $20. but as someone already said, there is apparently a restriction on this.

I work at TRU and one of my managers said the gift card can be used on the movies when they come out. The gift card doesn't expire before the movies come out, basically it's just your regular old gift card that can be used towards anything in the store.

EDIT: when you are issued a gift card it can be used on your NEXT purchase. so if you get the 2 $5 reservations and try to pay for those with the gift card you are given, it won't work.

assuming both will be 19.99 a piece (as they say on the back of the slips), you will end up paying 14.99/piece for them with the gift card. they might be cheaper when they come out. I know when Spiderman 2 came out it was 17.99 or something at TRU then a couple days later it went down to 14.99.

How do you figure? You are already out $10 for the deposit. It's $30 total, that is WITH using the GC when you pay the balance.
