Shaun of the Dead (R1) - Any reviews?

I haven't been able to dig up any reviews of the R1 Shaun of the Dead to be released next week. Anyone get their hands on a copy or know of any reviews of the R1 (or, better yet, R1 vs R2)? Thanks!

I rented it yesterday. It has some nice features. There are 2 episodes of " Trisha " ( the talk show playing on some background tv's ) , zombie photos, a US trailer, etc. The menus are cool, it's animated spots of The Winchester ( pub ) . The movie is crisp, and the sound is fine to me. It's worth purchasing IMHO.

Its the best one of the 4 commentary tracks on the R2 version.

That's the saddest quote ever.

I checked the disc out last night. It'll come Highly Recommended in my next column. It'll also rank among the top 5 of my year-end Best of Schlock list.

Awesome!!! That is some very comforting news. I guess you could've said the disc itself is worse than Highlander: DC with only Dolby 1.0 and I'd still get it

R1 vs R2

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/574/574032p1.html

Despite what they say, the R2 release was only one disc. In addition to the two missing commentaries, it sounds like Lucy Davis's video diary is also gone. On the R2 there was also another video diary with two zombie extras. That may be gone as well. I don't remember Casting Tapes. That may be new for R1. From TV Bits, the Jeremy Thompson interview got the ax. He's the "removing the head or destroying the brain" newscaster from the film. You see part of the interview at the end of the film, this was the full thing. Lastly, the trailers section sounds different. The R2 had the official teaser, official trailer, Fright Fest 2003 teaser and TV spots. This review only mentions the theatrical trailer.

Judging from this review, I'd say most fans will be happy enough with the region 1. The best bits all made it over the pond, but if you have multiregion capability, by all means, import.
