Crossing Jordan (11/7) and Las Vegas (11/8) Crossover Event

NBC 11/7 -- Crossing Jordan: What Happens Vegas Dies in Boston
Spoiler:
When a Montecito Hotel and Casino Lear jet arrives with casino host Sam Marquez (guest star Vaness Marcil) and casino security Danny McCoy (guest star Josh Duhamel) along with a dead high roller with three million dollars handcuffed to his wrist, Sam and Danny find themselves as the potential suspects in his death. Jordan (Jill Hennessy) and Woody (Jerry O'Connell) discover clues which may clear Sam and Danny's connection to the murder. Jordan and Woody follow the new suspect's trail to Vegas, teaming up with Danny wondering if what happens in Vegas really stays in Vegas. Meanwhile, Macy (Miguel Ferrer) is paid a special visit from the Montecito's Ed Deline (guest star James Caan) all the while continuing to deal with an unexpected announcement by D.A. Walcott (guest star Susan Gibney) as well as investigating a gruesome crime involving a young girl as the prime suspect. The cross-over will conclude on "Las Vegas" the next night, Monday at 9/8 p.m. Kathryn Hahn, Ravi Kapoor and Steve Valentine also star.

Then continues...

NBC 11/8 -- Las Vegas: Two of a Kind
Spoiler:
d (James Caan), Danny (Josh Duhamel), and Mike (James Lesure) combine forces with NBC's "Crossing Jordan" investigative team of Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh (Jill Hennessy) and Det. Woody Hoyt (Jerry O'Connell) to solve the murder of a high-stakes gambler. The mystery intensifies when it appears that the gambler's wife may not be the only woman who wants him dead. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg (as himself) is trying to convince Delinda (Molly Sims) to allow the Montecito to be the site of his next music video. Elsewhere, Ed must deal with the demands of his wife Jillian (Cheryl Ladd), who has moved into the Montecito while their house is being renovated. Vanessa Marcil, Nikki Cox, and Marsha Thomason also star.

This is a heads up. Sounds like it'll be a good one.

What a weird combo.

Nothing will ever beat the L&O/Homicide crossovers.

Thanks for the post. I had no idea NBC was planning this. I've never seen "Crossing Jordan" and Tivo through commericals, so I likely would have missed this.

My question: will I be able to watch Las Vegas as a standalone episode, or will I need to watch Crossing Jordan the night before?

Frankly, I don't have high hopes for this Las Vegas episode. I generally enjoy the campier episodes. What is the tone of CJ, besides Jill Hennesey being easy on the eyes?

Fairly light. Plays as much for laughs as you can when your main character cuts up dead bodies for a living.

I'm looking foward to this. Crossing Jordan and Las Vegas are the two silliest shows on NBC that I constantly continue to watch for reasons not quite known to me...
jillhenneseynikkicox

As for the tone of Crossing Jordan, it varies from season to season or week to week. Lately it's been fun, well as fun as can be given the subject matter, and just as unrealisitic and silly at times as Las Vegas can be.

I don't watch Crossing Jordan, am I gonna be confused by watching one episode? Is there an on going story line that they will be explaining, or is it more like CSI where you can watch a single episode and not be confused?

Some ongoing character development, maybe some "inside jokes" you won't get, but the cases are episodic. (as long as Jordan's mother, brother aren't involved).

Watching the Crossing Jordan episoden ow. I hate these crossover episodes, especially since I gave up on CJ after a couple of episodes in the first season.

I never really liked Crossing Jordan the few times I've caught it before and this episode did nothing to change that.

I wonder if Jordan's line about Vegas CSU was an intentional jab at CSI.

If I'd never seen an episode of Las Vegas, and only went by this episode of Crossing Jordan, I don't think I'd like Las Vegas's cast that much. Ed comes across way too strong, and Danny just seems indignant the whole time, and Sam is just looking for her next whale.

Never seen an episode of CJ before last night and I was plesantly suprised. I added it to my season pass list so I'll see if they can keep me around for another week.

A guy Danny and Sam are flying with on the Casino plane to Boston dies. Danny got into it with the guy for being to aggresive with Sam and he hits the guy. Danny is the prime suspect in the killing. It turns out the punch didn't kill the guy, his wife poisned him.

The guy was carrying 3 million dollars handcuffed to his wrist. They place it in a safe in the station and the wife breaks in and steals it and heads back to Vegas. At her home in Boston Jordan and Jerry O'Connell find cookies she was making laced with the poison. So they go to Vegas after her thinking she's going to poison more people.

Last night ended with the two of them plus Danny finding the wife and getting in a standoff with her. The wife has a gun drawn on Jordan and the 2 guys are trying to talk her out of shooting. It ended with the camera going up towards the sky and the sound of gunshots.

I thought the same thing, Ed in particular came across as a mobbed up casino boss.
