What the hell, Korean only has a 2.0 track? The Korean DVD doesn't even have a 2.0 track. I'll stick with my sub-less DTS Korean version.

I guess it's a good choice is you want to watch the movie with subs, but PAL isn't my favorite so I'll pick up the North American release whenever the hell that comes out.

It's nice to know there are English subs of this movie somewhere out there, though.

I think I'll pick this up and rip the subs and burn a DVD of my Korean release with the subs added... Now - to buy a DVD Burner. Maybe I'll be able to watch this piece of crap for under 200 bucks.

You can buy Sony's new dual-layer burner and have a good quality piece of crap. Probably be over 200 bucks, though.

I though there was a North American company that had bought the rights its distribution there. It played at the FantAsia festival in September. A lot of people would by the DVD it if ever came out

A Scandinavian release is coming on April 7th. It should have DD5.1 and DTS. Aspect ratio is still unknown.

I hope this isn't gonna be another one of those movies that gets released everywhere in the world and then, 5 years later, gets a crappy R1 release....

www.filmifriikki.fi lists it having english subtitles... But if those are necessary, I suggest waiting until the dvd is released...

Scandinavian release is today so I went looking for it. They didn't have it yet (bad release day, just before easter, most places close early...), but apparently it is in a series of film called "Asian Vision" in which all the films so far have been 16:9, so the clerk didn't see any reason why this wouldn't be.

However I now found this (danish version):
http://www.dvdoo.com/dvdoo/showpic.asp?PicID=38011

Unless my eyes deceive me that says 4:3, although in a rather wide box...

Found a norwegian one too, also says 4:3:
http://www.dvdhuset.no/servlet/dvdhu...de&VareID=7241

I was shown the front cover on the computer in the store though and I'm pretty sure it was red, not blue...

Guess we'll know for sure soon, but it's not looking good.

Edit: I did buy another film in the series (The Japanese "The Blue Light" (Ao no hono)) and it includes a non-anamorphic widescreen trailer for "Resurrection...". It's obviously just a Korean trailer with subtitles though, so I doubt that has much significance.

If I am not mistaken the Danish dvd lists English subs.....(look very bottom -"Englesk")

....and the 4:3...I suppose means "black bars on 16/9 TV...since that is the photo they have there.....at least that's what I would guess...

Anyone pick this up yet? I'd really like to get those subs ripped if possible.

I'm pretty sure the French release mentioned at the top of the page will not have any English subs.

When I posted my info DVDZONE2 clearly had English subs listed as an option...it appears they have updated their info...hence only French subs at this point.

However...the Danish version clearly does have English subs....or at least that is what the cover indicates:

Yeah, I seem to remember seeing that as well. Although you always have to wonder when a French DVD is listed showing it will have English subtitles

I think French DVD companies are allergic to English subtitles!

I might be doing this in a slightly roundabout way, bu this is how I do it...

First you will need DVD Decrypter, which will rip the VOB files off of the disc.

In the upper-right-hand window you see a whole directory tree; you can tell which one the feature film is by looking at the runtimes next to each of them. Select the one you've decided is the main attraction, pick a destination folder on your hard drive, and hit the "DVD > HD" button on the lower left. This could take up a sizable portion of your hard drive (probably around 5gb on average). You now have some VOB files (how many depends on the way they configured the DVD before pressing).

Next step is to download SubRip (alternately found here).

Install that, and open it up, you will see the big box in the bottom left corner which has "Vob(sub) Files" as its header. Make sure the "Autoselect Matching VOBs" is checked, and click "Open Dir". Point this bad boy to the place where you ripped the VOB files to using DVD Decrypter. Make sure the "Action" box is set to the OCR option, and you will not have a matrix file to begin with--you will be creating one during the beginning of the rip.

Hit the start button, and it will begin scanning. Now it will ask you what every new character is, so you'll be entering in some single characters. Sometimes it will recognize things like a "tt" as a single character, and in that case just say it is a tt... it's pretty user-friendly.

After you've entered all of the alphabet and a few more, it will basically run on its own. Once it's done save it as either a .srt or .sub file, both are pretty much universally compatible.

Someone let me know if I've given him a totally roundabout way of doing this, but like I say, this is the way I do it.

Mikko, let me know if you have any questions.
