I'm just thinking to get Saving Private Ryan WWII Collection (4-disc) or the regular D-Day 60Th Anniversary Commemorative Ed (2-disc). The latter is without DTS sound track and Price For Peace/Shooting War?

Any recommendations? Thanks

Kind of depends upon; how much money you have to spend, whether or not you want the other documentaries (they were ok but not anything I think I'll watch again anytime soon if that helps), and how important DTS is to you doesn't it?

"I picked up the WW2 collection after having the original "Limited Edition" version that had a DD 5.1 track and one documentary.

I picked up the WW2 collection when Costco had it on sale for $22.95, definitely worth it!

Hearing it in DTS for the first time was nice. This is the only "new" version to have DTS btw. Being one of my favorite movies I checked out the extras after watching it and found them interesting, not boring like most documentaries these days.

The included films are an interesting addition to the extras that come in the set. Seeing Japanese pilots burst into tears when asked about their role in Pearl Harbor made me really sad, almost tearing (I'm not one who ever cries).

If it were still selling for $22.95 at Costco I would blindly recomend this to anyone but I know WW2 isn't everyone's favorite subject so the included films may not be worth the extra money ($20 more at the time I wrote this). DTS isn't always apparent on all hardware either so it's up to you if it's worth $20 more."

Bought the four disc set because I had to have DTS. Started with the DD, then upgraded to DTS, now upgraded again to 4 disc set. I think they got their money out of me.

The new 2 Disc out there doesn't have DTS?

I found it confusing because some websites claim that it does like below:

only the 2-disc that comes with the WWII collection has it. The 2-disc by itself is DD 5.1

also, no dvds have sdds sound that i am aware of like the ad states.

That's funny. You're right. SDDS does not exist in the DVD world. In fact, Sony announced that they were pulling the plug on the theatrical format a few years ago and but seems to be still going though.

At my Wal-Mart, I saw the Day 60th Edition for only 12 dollars last night but I don't know if they have it for 12 bucks in your area.
