i hate that you always gotta keep em safe or in a case. im not a very tidy person, and something i really liked about vhs was how you could just throw it across the room when you were done.

Umm...their collectability. And the fact that there are websites devoted to them that promote collecting.

Double dipping......they should get it right the first time.

Understandable for the very old releases, but you gotta be joking with the new ones. At least give the consumer a choice (thumbs up for the LOTR trilogy).

The fact that I can't melt 'em down and inject 'em directly into my veins.

My name is CK, and I'm a DVD addict.

The fact that you are usually blocked from fast forwarded or skipping past all of the introductory stuff before getting to the DVD menue (FBI warnings and the like). It takes about a minute to load a DVD, whereas you can play a CD in three seconds.

This isn't a big issue when just playing a movie, but when doing demos, or trying to trouble shoot a problem, or trying to do comparisons between movies, it is a real PITA.

The fact that they take up space!!....and that you begin to think you need to sell your house..not because of an expanding family...but because the spare room is now no longer big enough to house your collection

Yeah yeah yeah I know all about region-free players... but it would make easier for EVERYONE if there was no regional coding. Other regions could have easier access to some of our cool collector sets and visa versa. Oh, while we're at it, let's make NTSC a world-wide standard

btw, having 2 players is not a good option since I won't give up my current player... too many features and it plays everything I throw at it

That the current crop of DVDs will look like crap when Blu-Ray becomes main stream and replacing it as the standard. Then I'd have to repurchase all my triple dipped DVDs. Damn you movie studios.
