Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tomorrow, gamer or not, watch this trailer!!!
http://www.xboxusersgroup.com/forums...threadid=23389
It blew me away, I was just sitting down, then the online xbox live part of Splinter Cell 2 trailer came, and I was blown away into my garden, glass everywhere it's that good, the original was awsome offline, but online, man oh man, this is fantastic!!!
It looks very film like, so even if you don't have xbox and live, it's still a marvel to look out, how gaming has progressed, this will be a ground breaking stealth game online.
I still got to complete splinter cell 1 while I wait.
My xbox gamertag is: SeanValen
I think it's been released around late March time.
Imagine playing this and talking to your fellow friends and forumers on xbox live, gaming in 2004 is bloody cool, Halo 2 coming up as well!!!

The most surprising news is that this game will be online for all 3 consoles, even Gamecube (I think thats a first). I didn't really like the first splinter cell though so i'm gonna wait for the reviews to see if they fixed some of the problems I didn't like.

Multiplayer is only 4 players. 2 stealth dudes and 2 mercs. The stealth dudes are in 3rd person while the mercs are in first person. The mercs can engage in lethal force while the stealth dudes can't.

I guess I was hoping for 2 player co-op online of the offline story.

New video of the multiplayer mode. Looks pretty good.
I wish they had a video from the stealth guy point-of-view also though.

Online sounds interesting from what has been written in magazines like xbn, etc. Ubi wanted only 2 on 2 in order to get a real high sense of drama and tension in the game. The spys get some gadgets that the mercs dont and vice versa. The spies are in 3 person perspective allowing them to hide and get a jump on their opponents who only get first person perspective. I am still unclear how voice while be in effect...can a spy whisper something that the merc can hear right before he puts a sleeper hold on him? That would be pretty funny while you have merc in a hold that you're talking trash for his ears only.
Communication will be key to success so I hope Ubi does it right. Team talk where only your team mates hears you where you push the white button...and maybe a world talk so you can talk some smack to the other team while you're humiliating them that's active when you push the black button and maybe a distance talk where anybody within a certain area can hear you as you're talking/whispering that's always on...
I loved the original and will probably get this and play through the single player missions first before hopping online...

The first game didn't do much for me, but the online play of the second game is very interesting. I can see buying this but not playing the single-player game (just like SOCOM II for me).

I was just reading about this today. Yep, you can do that. You can talk to your teammate, but when you grab somebody from behind, you can taunt him.

I read there was a weapon the spies could shoot at the mercs that would allow the spies to listen in on the mercs communication.
That's just so freaking cool. What great usage of the voice communicator.

This article just made me laugh pretty hard...
http://www.gamespot.com/gba/action/p...s_6091084.html
"The latest Sony Ericsson models will be used by central character Sam Fisher not only to communicate with his superiors, but to switch weapons, and to photograph suspects."
Everyone knows that covert op agents use cell phones to take pictures! How lame.

I was just reading about the "feature" that only allows this game to be installed from a "non-writable" disk drive, CDR/RW or DVDR/RW. Can anyone confirm this?

Replace the Palm logo in SC1 with Sony Ericsson in SC2. I haven't seen Sam whip out a cell phone yet. A cell phone (looks like a T610) is used by an NPC (with a gratuitous closeup) for one element of the game that I've seen so far.
I like that they've streamlined a couple parts of the interface. Equipping a lockpick or fiber cable is just an option on the interaction menus now. Rounds for the rifle can be switched pretty quickly by pressing up or down. The laser sight on the pistol makes it very deadly now.
