Well, I've been a little strapped for cash lately (a divorce'll do that to ya), and needed a new DVD player badly, and I wanted an all region player, but didn't wanna pay a lot of cash.
I saw these Koss KD305a players at Sears one day while I was getting shocks put on my Bronco, and they were only $34.99 (and they even have progressive scan, s-video and composite outputs, the whole shebang). I thought, "Why not? It'll be awhile before you can pick up an all-region player anyway...". So, I bought it, and paid $5.25 extra for a 2 year REPLACEMENT (not repair) guarantee, and brought it home.
Well, I was reading some posts in this (and other) forums about remote region codes, and, with a few "magical" keystrokes on the PC, found the code for my Koss (to make it all-region). YEE-HAAAWWW! Now I can watch all my Godzilla flicks from Japan, and my Predator1/2 set from England, etc..etc...

you can watch a DVD from england? But england uses PAL. Surely, this Koss player won't properly convert PAL to NTSC. Could you pop it in and check for us?

It plays my Predator box set just fine, and it's PAL.

What was the button combo? I forgot the mediatek combo. 1558 or something.

Press MENU, followed by 1 6 7 1 9 . It asks for your region code; press "0". It also has a PAL/NTSC conversion selector in the display options.
