Not sure if these are entirely relevant to what you are looking for, but maybe try:
King Solomon's Mines (1950) - Stewart Granger
Valley of the Kings (1954) - Robert Taylor
Legend of the Lost (1957) - John Wayne
She (1965) - Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing
The Southern Star (1969) - George Segal/Ursula Andress
King Solomon's Mines (1985) - Richard Chamberlain
Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987) - Chamberlain
Congo (1995) - Michael Crichton (writer)
Lara Croft 1&2
maybe some of the old "Tarzan" films
Abbott & Costello Meet the Mummy
the Fifth Element had some archeology stuff in the opening

That's paleontology.

There's a movie with Antonio Banderas called "The Body" which is about an archaeologist in the Middle East who finds the remains of Christ.

You thought Raiders of the Lost Ark was a cool flick? Watch the Richard Chamberlain "Alan Quartermain Bilogy" - I consider it the REAL conclusion to the Indiana Jones trilogy... in spirit.

...and if you like those movies, you'll love Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr. in FIREWALKER. It's a true "Video Treasure".
