Need a list of movies shot in or about Chi-Town
Okay, I'm giving a talk about my home town Chicago next week and I thought I would bring movies that take place in Chicago so I'm looking for suggestions. So far I have:
1. The Blues Brothers
2. The Untouchables (1987)
3. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
4. The Fugitive
5. Running Scared
The movie has to actually show off the city in some way, shape, or form. For example, when I did a search on IMDB for Chicago I got [b]Silver Streak[b]. Great movie, wish like hell it was on DVD but crashing into Union Station does not a Chicago movie make. Any thoughts?

About Last Night shows off Grant Park and Rush Street and a lot of the rest of the city pretty well.
You could show the end of The Fugitive when Harrison Ford gets off at the Balbo street el stop. (There is no Balbo St. el stop.)

Thanks for the site auntiewinnie! You wouldn't even know some of those movies were filmed in Chicago but hey, I can't complain. Forgot all about Adventures in Babysitting and Switiching Channels. Now I think the real test will be finding a movie that shows Comiskey Park (or U.S. Cellular as it's now called). My movie pet peeve is that films always show Wrigley (because it's pretty and historic and recognizable blah blah) but not everyone in Chicago is a Cubs fan!

Yea that one is pretty funny. I won't even go into the goofs you can see in other movies.

Those lists trump anything that we could think of although High Fidelity, Opportunity Knocks, Ferris Beuller, Breakfast Club, and What Women want come immediately to mind.

MEDIUM COOL incredible movie filmed during the 1968 Democratic National Convention - in and around Lincoln Park, Grant Park, Michigan Avenue, etc. Directed by the great cinematographer (and native Chicagoan) Haskell Wexler.

Only The Lonely and Uncle Buck (John Candy)
Judgement Night (Emilio Estevez)
VI Warshawski (Kathleen Turner)

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY - early scene filmed at University of Chicago, and on Lake Shore Drive heading south to the Loop (which makes no sense since the University of Chicago is SOUTH of the Loop).

Also, The Matrix was supposed to take place in Chicago, although it obviously wasn't filmed there.
