Look, I've got about a dozen DVD's to get that week or the week before, and this one can just wait until, oh, I don't know, Hell freezes over.

Looks like that 12 week window is slightly shorter now...

Edit: I imagine Fox will make more money off Simpsons Season 3 that week than this release.

Fox wanted to release the dvd six weeks after it hit theaters for a quicker bang for their buck way to squeeze out of this film that bombed.

it's opening week's gross put it to number #11 on the top ten..

they probably could've released this one straight to DVD and made more money.

They could have simply not made the movie, and made more money.

Laugh all you want. I know there will be some folks who will happily share that they are buying this movie the week it comes out in our beloved "what are you getting this week" thread.

Anyone want to bet?

Friends & family of the cast & crew don't count, right?
So, will this DVD hold the record for the quickest theater to home video release?

It's probably considered a straight-to-DVD release -- but needed a token appearance in the theaters in order to meet Academy Award eligibility requirements

Glitter opened in 11th place just like From justin to kelly and made 2.4 million in it's opening weekend in 1,202 theaters

Justin to kelly's opening weekend was 2,715,848 and opened in 2,001 theaters..

So if we do the math, glitter made just about the same amount as justin to kelly in fewer theaters.

the results.. From Justin to kelly might have made more money, but in more theaters. Glitter to me did better then From justin to kelly balancing out theater#'s out.

Plus, you have to factor in higher ticket prices right now, so....

I'm definitely picking this one up...

got a wobbly table that needs a leg propped up, and don't want to waste a book on it.

I hope they filmed Justin prior to the interview I saw on TV, in which his general appearance suggested that after losing Idol to Kelly, he dove head-first into a giant trough of Ho-Ho's. He was looking a tad hefty.............no, wait.......

I actually hope that Justin and Kelly are caught by an angry mob coming out of their premier, and soundly pelted about the head and neck region with rocks and assorted garbage items.

Yeah...that'll do.

In addition, I predict that this movie will spend very much time on the shelf right next to Britney's Crossroads, Mariah's Glitter, and that pile of movie with the n'Sync dudes...Lance and Ricky-Todd or A.Q. or whatever the hell his name is.

I'm still in shock that it wasnt released direct to video like The Real Cancun should have been. What the hell is up with studios nowadays? That arent even trying anymore.
