There are too many styles of rap that fall under catagories that could span the catagories you have.

I am a fan of Underground Rap (heiro), some East Cost Rap (Ghostface, Raekwon), some West Coast Rap (snoop), some Alternative Rap(goats), some Politcal Rap(PE, Paris), and a few others.

Down South but not all that ignorant country bamma stuff I like stuff like Outkast, Cee-Lo, P.A. Crunk music is good in moderation other than that it's whatever catches my ear but as I age I'm growing REAL tired of the current playa/thug kick rap is on right now.

I just went by what my two favorite groups are, Hiero and Quannum. The Coup is just gravy.

Used to like all rap, but now I like the old school.
Todays rap is not what it used to be.
Few exceptions of course...Eminem..Ludicris...Ja Rule(if he dumps the R&B)
I hate r&B rap, except L.L. He is the only one who pulls it Off pretty good.

Favorite is Underground/Alternative rap (which should be a poll choice). Some favorites are: Atmosphere, Hieroglyphics/Del the Funky Homosapien, Quannum/Blackalicious, El-P/Def Jux/Company Flow.

I also like a lot of instrumental hip hop/trip hop...DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, the Herbaliser, Rjd2, etc.

I've found that I really like the West Coast style, particularly Dr. Dre and the people he produces.

mid-to-late 1990's East Coast rap is the best, imo.

Big fan of N.W.A, Eazy-E, Public Enemy, Run-D.M.C., Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, OutKast (only Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik), Dr. Dre (only The Chronic), Snoop (only Doggystyle), Ice Cube (Predator, Lethal Injection), Ice-T (O.G.), a little Bone-Thugs, Eightball and MJG (Comin' Out Hard), and a few others...

So with a few exceptions, I guess I belong to the Gangsta Rap crowd.

BTW, I haven't listened to any new cRap.
