Does your Wega accept a progressive signal?
I'm a big Panasonic fan. Check out the RP62 and RP82. Both are great values and are progressive scan models. The RP62 comes in silver to match Wega's and other TV's. The RP82 is silver/black and also matches Wega's.

I agree with Skar about the Pannies. The 82 ($206 at onecall.com) has better picture quality and more features than the 62 for about $30-40 more. It combines the best of the RP-91 and 56/62 lines into one unit.

My wega will not accept progressive signal. But it is the top of the line wega(analog).

A lot of Sony players also have the chroma bug > http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...ug-4-2001.html < but this may or may not matter to you since you can't use a progressive scan player and/or may never notice...
Personally, I'd go with a Panny... The new models (and most older ones) are chroma bug free and are nice bang for your buck players...

If you are looking for a new interlaced player, check out www.6ave.com ...they have the Panasonic RA-60 interlaced player on clearance for $117 plus shipping. This player has the added benefit of DVD-A and great interlaced output. No need to get a progressive scan player when your TV cannot display the signal and prices are coming down all the time. I have been very impressed with this player, as an upgrade over my previous Pioneer DV-525. DVD-A is very very nice.

My Sony player has the so called chroma bug but I defy you to even see it. It is such a non issue that it doesn't warrent even mentioning anymore. I still suggest the Sony to compliment the Sony TV.
