What's your favorite MADONNA album?

Mine would have to be "Music". Some really good stuff on there.

I have to cheat and say "The Immaculate Collection". Barring that, then I'd say "Bedtime Stories".

Mine is "Ray of Light." Though some argue that her voice is too polished on this one. "Music" and her older stuff have a less formal feel to them.

I was never really a big Madonna fan but "Ray of Light" was a decent album that I actually enjoyed. Nothing else.

Madonna is one of those artists I almost completely ignore. She isn't awful to the point of cringing, but doesn't do anything worth paying much attention to. Yes, I am very familiar with her music ever since "Holiday" came out... how could anyone not be?... she's all over the place.

Having said that, the SONG "Ray of Light" is awesome. It's the only song in a 20-year-career that I really dig hearing.

True Blue, because it's the most consistent album, both song- and productionwise. It's closely followed by Like A Virgin, though.

Were's I'm Breathless on the list? In my book you can't go wrong with Stephen Sondheim's 'Sooner or Later' followed by a song about spanking. Plus it's got Vogue on it.

Of the choices listed I'll have to say Like a Virgin, although it's a tough call between that and Like a Prayer, Ray of Light and Erotica (which I think is a very underrated album because of the Sex book backlash).

Like A Prayer.

Hands down. From beginning to end.

Standouts: Like A Prayer, Till Death Do Us Part, Dear Jessie

Ray of Light just because it was so amazing...

Even the b-sides/demos are amazing...Has to Be, Like a Flower, Gone Gone Gone....all really really good. Remixes as well.

But that's followed VERY closely by Erotica. Was light years ahead of its time and still stands out now as being a great album...if you bother to give it a shot.

Then probably Like a Prayer....and on and on.

Music. Every song is just so beautiful, amazing, and I listened to it at least 5 hours a day for a whole month! I will never get tired of this awesome cd!

I didn't like "You Can Dance" because the remixes were pretty weak. She should release another one because remixes have come so far since the 80s. Some of the more recent ones are amazing.

BTW, anyone know where to get the original version of "Into the Groove?" YCD only has that horrible remix.

Really? I don't understand why everyone hates those mixes. The Everybody one kicks ass. That is still one of her absolute best songs.

As for the original version of Into The Groove...there were a couple of import singles. One was the re-release of the original single...and another was released around the time of Who's That Girl and has that same cover. I believe it's also on the re-release of Crazy For You import single. The Q-sound remix is of course available on the Immaculate Collection.

But I think that's it.

The original version (I think...) of Into the Groove is also on the early re-release of the Like a Virgin album. At least here in Europe. I'm not 100% sure it's the *original* version, though; I only have the song on an old maxi single released at the time, with pictures of Madonna and Rosanna Arquette from the movie Desperately Seeking Susan on it. And that is the original, as far as I'm concerned :-)

Like a Prayer is her best album. Immaculate Collection is her best compilation.
