Jesus's Son Any Good?

I caught the tail end of the movie awhile ago, and was very impressed. I was wondering if anyone had any comments on the movie and whether or not it would be a wise purchase.

I liked it, but it's DEFINITELY not for everyone. Especially those too squeamish to tackle the issue of drug abuse.

Welcome, Brain Stew! The DVD Talk "Main" forum is more for questions about DVDs... review-type questions belong in Movie Talk or DVD Reviews. Since you're asking about whether or not the movie would be a good purchase, I'm moving this thread to DVD Reviews.

really an underseen little gem IMO
good cast used to its fullest from a collection of short poem/stories so the fact that it is a semi cohsive film is a credit the films director and screenwriter.
The DVD is a dry wasteland, if extras are your thing-
but hey JACK BLACK in a scene stealing cameo role

I am a HUGE Billy Crudup fan and he does a wonderful job in this movie. Like someone said earlier, it's not for everyone. It does have some great performances and a intriguing storyline (the ending stuck with me). I recommend at least watching it once. Not sure if it has a lot of replay value, so might want to give it a rental.

I really enjoyed this one too.

I caught the tail end of it again on HBO recently and now I've decided I've got to put it on my 'To Buy' list.

Yes, it is.

Don't have the DVD, but I caught it on cable. Excellent movie with a good script and some outstanding performances.
