Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

The ad is live on their site too, and on there you can click on 'choose from x titles' and see the whole list.

They have some good UHD deals, which is mostly what I'm looking for.
7.99 UHDs, mostly LionsGate I believe, I'm gonna grab Halloween, The Punisher and American Psycho
9.99 UHDs, I'll be getting Logan and King Kong
There's a listing for 19.99 and up collection. It specifically mentions the Jurassic Park 1-4 UHD collection as being 19.99, the others listed are Star Wars Complete Saga BD and Matrix Trilogy UHD
14.99 UHDs including Marvel
22.99 UHDs including Disney and Star Wars, but also includes some collections such as Predator 1-3, Deadpool 1-2, X-Men original trilogy and Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy

Good stuff this year. I hope Amazon price matches some of them.

Didn't check out the media yet but I am very disappointed the LG C8 OLED tv is only $200 less than the current price.

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

Yeah I will be making a stop there. Will probably go Wednesday night after seeing Creed II.

I'll be looking to get upon initial look at the ad:

4K UHD:

A Quiet Place

Deadpool 2

Ant Man and the Wasp

Coco

Justice League

BD's:

Sicario: Day of the Soldado

The Greatest Showman

Jigsaw

The Hitman's Bodyguard

(some of those are on 4K UHD and on sale, but I'm going to save a few bucks and get BD's instead)

and maybe a Roku Ultra

Games:

These are maybes:

Lego Villains

Madden 19

FIFA 19

I bought 4K UHD digital copies of Ready Player One, IT, Skyscraper and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom recently, so I won't be getting discs for them.

I do have a 4K UHD copy of Justice League that I got months ago for like $4, but my Superhero OCD wants to have a physical copy of it.

Noticed that Ant Man & The Wasp 4K+BD is cheaper than just the BD. Even though I don't have a 4K player or TV I may get the 4K+BD of this anyway, better deal, seems like a no-brainer.

If Amazon does their Lightning Deals on these, don't you have to nail the deal at a certain time on a certain day? Don't know if I have the patience for that.

They mix the blu rays and DVD together in the ad based on price. You need to make sure you are buying a bluray .

Can these deals be had on line- ? Time available or just B&M?
Thanks

Probably, yes. The site gets swamped on the sale days, though, and the slowdown can make it pretty difficult to get orders through. Stock can be unpredictable based on the item, too.

Just curious though- the BR/4K sets don’t show a sale price even though it says
“Starting at 19.99” ???

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

Prices Valid November 22-24, 2018 Opens at 5pm

I think I only went to Walmart last year and bought about 12 movies online at BB and Amazon.
Also with the shrinking media at a lot of BB,stock might be limited this year?

Great price on Avengers: Infinity War for $7.One of the few movies I bought on day/week one.

Plan on buying

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice $3.99

$6
Blade Runner 2049
Ready Player One
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
Get Out
Game Night(Target $6)
Men in Black Trilogy

Maybe for $7 each.
Deadpool 2 Blu-ray
Black Panther Blu-ray

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

Last year Best Buy brought in stock specifically for Black Friday. It will be interesting to see how the stores with reduced media handle it this year.

I noticed the ads mentioned specific numbers of titles, -75 Blu-ray titles, I think.

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

Some good deals here looks like. Best Buy will be getting a lot of my business unless Amazon matches.

I plan to get:
4K's:
American Assassin(maybe, it would be a blind buy, but I like Keaton)
Ant-Man and the Wasp
The Hitman's Bodyguard

Blu-ray:
Ready Player One
Tag (maybe)

I would get Deadpool 2 but I'd rather pay like $10 or so for it as I didn't love it. Might see if somewhere else has it cheaper even if its just the Blu-ray.

WM will have it cheaper...

BD = 7.96
4K = 8.96

Just won't be as easy to get unless they(WM) post it online early Thurs morning .

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

If you have an American Express card, you might have a $30 back on a $300 purchase at Best Buy. I did, so hopefully I'll be able to get the Spider-Man PS4 bundle with some movies in one order so I can take advantage of it.

If they're just throwing sale items into a dump bin how are you supposed to find anything? They have some great 4k deals but if they put them at the bottom of the bin you can't even see them let alone find them since I doubt they'd let you dump the entire contents of the bin to get to the bottom. I call that bait and switch.

Re: Best Buy 2018 Black Friday Ad

I mean if they have it then it’s not really bait and switch. Just because you have to search for it. Black Friday items are never exactly the most organized. Plus won’t a lot of these probably be online either via Best But themselves or if Amazon matches?

I think those dump bins will be the last remnant of media still carried at retail going forward after Christmas.

Every month the national retailers shrink their media exposure.
