I listen to podcasts on my long work commutes, keeping several in my queue, often months or years old. This morning’s listen happened to be a years old one about the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot. Total coincidence, didn’t realize it was Friday the 13th until I got to work. I’ll likely watch the film if work is slow, just to tie it all together.

DaiKaiju TV (DKU-TV) is running Godzilla and giant monster movies all weekend, plus I am picking though my Vudu Godzilla collection, so that's pretty much my agenda today and tomorrow.

decided not to meet up with some peeps at Friday's of all places tonight (too cliche?) and just saw one of the greatest moments in cinematic history...

Nope.
I watched Bringing Out the Dead, Rampage, and now I'm watching Breakheart Pass. Nothing horror related.

I watched my least favorite F13th - V: A New Beginning - and it was better than I remembered but I still hate the ending. Hate it.

You know I’ve grown to be more of a fan of that movie than I used to be. The twist makes it stand out amongst the others. I wish Tommy would have been portrayed differently. I feel of the three actors to portray him that John Shepherd was the worst. The movie also has a really odd trashy vibe (probably due to the director having done adult films).

I will say I do love the opening with Feldman, and the extra T&A and gore isn't such a bad thing.

Was New Beginning with Jason who wasn’t really Jason or psychic power chick? Love the series, but get confused in the middle there...

I sort of view it as a transitional movie in the franchise. It’s after Jason’s “death” and before his resurrection as “zombie” Jason. Kind of an off film but also not bad.

I discovered on Facebook that a theater about 40 minutes away was having a screening of the original Friday the 13th, so my son and I went to see it on the big screen. Pretty cool experience watching with a crowd that were familiar with it and had a love for it.

Re: Watch anything apropos on Friday the 13th?
Been watching just ONE Friday the 13th movie (from the DVD set) the past few times the date has fallen- watched part 3 this time in shitty 2D since Paramount still refuses to put out a proper 3D Blu-Ray. Movie is pretty pointless without the 3D (tons of gimmick shots that literally fall flat on video) but it at least shows where Jason's hockey mask came from. These movies get pretty monotonous when watched all together so spreading them out one at a time will hopefully make some of them more fun again.
Yesterday watched Saturday the 14th on CED, brand new sealed disc played for the first time. Ridiculously short movie, and they crammed side 1 pretty full leaving just a few minutes on side 2 where everything wraps up.
