I wonder if next season will borrow from the abandoned Escape From Supermax movie?

Damn, that was certainly not an uplifting finale.

Was not not expecting Quentin to be written out like that.

Poor Ollie. Life in Prison. Should be interesting to see how they get him out in about 5 months.

Why would Diaz think a coerced video of Quentin commanding the FBI to leave the city would actually work. That seemed pretty stupid.

I was hoping they would be done with him by seasons end. Of course Oliver will be out of jail within about two episodes.

You had the same thought!

I think it moved WAY past that by that point.

I'm thinking his prison stay isn't real. It's part of a plan he hatched with the FBI agent.

We knew Quentin was gonna meet his fate like this for several weeks. It was mentioned he'd be leaving the show and it was spoiled somewhere that he was going to be shot in the season finale.

Sucks that Diaz is still around. Didn't really seem like a season finale. More like a mid-season finale if you ask me.

Anyhow Arrow is being moved to Monday nights this Fall.

That's what I was thinking (though a friend later reminded me of the "SuperMax" story). I'm thinking Roy Harper comes back to play Arrow for a while, and they build the "Longbow Hunters" storyline, while Oliver concurrently busts up some operation going on in the prison. Oliver then re-joins the storyline in progress, but someone from the prison story plays a role in the last part of the season's storyline.

Did I miss the Longbow Hunters?? They said the League of Assassins were afraid of them. Did they show up?

Yeah figured Quinton was a goner once it slipped out that he has leaving the show.

Pretty sure the Longbow Hunters were just mentioned to set up next season.

That was a complete waste of Sarah, though.

Re: Arrow (S6E23) -- Season Finale -- "Life Sentence" -- 5/17/18

I was amazed at how Captain Lance stayed around this long. The producers must love Blackthorne. He was just about the only non-superhero character to remain on the show besides Felicity over the years.

Acevedo was great as Diaz but I'm not sure keeping him around is a great idea. I would have liked to see his arc end.

Given the new showrunner next season, we got six seasons of Arrow. The last two seasons have always been watchable and occasionally very good.

Yeah. That "other thing" the FBI agent wanted from Oliver was to go undercover in the prison to help them out with something.
Diaz will probably try to have Oliver killed in prison.

Wasn't that the title of a Mike Grell GA story? ...

Odd to drop a "big name" and nothing happens.

A blurb I saw said the finale was affecting and frustrating and I think it was right. It would have been nice to have started fresh for Season 7 but oh well. Since Sara's on the scene and Arrow follows LoT in the fall, I'd love to see a mini-crossover.

It was the title of Grell's miniseries. LBH will figure into next season's storyline.

Elements of Mike Grell's The Long Bow Hunters have already been used on the show...in seasons one and two.

I thought this was an alright finale. Not sure about keeping Diaz alive and I'm interested to see what they do with Black Siren next season. I agree it did feel more like a midseries finale though.

Re: Arrow (S6E23) -- Season Finale -- "Life Sentence" -- 5/17/18

Getting a bit tired of Diaz. Hopefully they'll finish with him quickly next season and move on.

Wouldn't Black Siren go to prison for murder? She's killed multiple people during her time on Earth-1. I'm surprised she wasn't arrested on the spot- I don't see how Oliver could have gotten her out of that even if he wanted to.

Nice Supermax BTW- that's not at all how they're like. They're isolated single cells for the most part. Oliver would never be put in general population anyways, he'd always be kept isolated for his own (and other's) safety.

Unless, of course, there's an ulterior motive to what's going on.
