Do you clean your controller?

And if so, what do you use?

I notice my elite Xbox One controller getting a little murky and seems like I could clean it up. I mean I keep in pretty pristine, but gets a little dust and some spots. But, I want to keep it brand spanking new. It’s the OCD in me. Plus, it was $100 bucks and I want to protect investment...

Or couldn't care less what controller looks like?

Re: Do you clean your controller?

I wipe off dust and finger prints from the surface area. I try to clean around the buttons and joysticks/d-pad if they’ve got stuff around them too.

Goddamit, it's "couldn't care less"... "couldn't". Caring less implies that you care. And wtf do you do to your controller to make it murky? Use a goddam Clorox wipe and be done with it.

Re: Do you clean your controller?

I know it’s Oldboy and everyone thinks it’s cool to rag on him but in fairness I’ve seen that term used wrong before and probably have used it wrong myself. Probably an honest mistake..

Re: Do you clean your controller?

It caught my eye too, but only because he also used it in another thread here recently

Anyway, I'll just clorox wipe my controllers a few times a year. I don't think they get that dirty, but I probably should clean them more often.

Re: Do you clean your controller?

I use an alcohol wipe on mine every few months. I've never gone to the extent of opening them up to get out any internal dust.

Re: Do you clean your controller?

I use the pledge or windex multi-surface on a paper towel to clean the controllers. I don't do it that often unless the kids have gotten their food hands on it.

Nope. I don't. Unless it gets sticky or oily stuff on it.

And you clicked on it and read it, plus took the time to reply to it. So don’t act like your time is so precious and leave the guy alone. Jesus Christ, you’re tearing him a new one because he asked a question about cleaning a controller in a forum that has seen much worse.

Lay off.

I give Willie and Millie (my 2 PS4 controllers) bi-weekly showers.

No problem. I know what it’s like to be ragged on (go read my car buying threads ) but you seem to be targeted by some.

Eh, it mostly doesn’t get to me, but once in awhile it gets a wee bit irritating...

Can you use an alcohol wipe on a controller without harm?

At what point does a grown person use common sense. It's not just this thread, it's almost every thread. I get we post here as a community to learn from one another... but "how to clean a controller"? This is another example cyber space white-noise.

Old Boy -- with a billion options to clean something (from logical to lethal), don't use alcohol... ok? Just go get a Clorox wipe and you're done.

Also, nickdawgy, congrats on standing up in this thread and being "the man". I was going to remind you that the NES Classic is coming back for $60 in late June.

Does it count if my toddler licks it at least once every other day?

There you go, two tongue votes now. It's the best, all natural way to clean it, I'm telling you.
