Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

obviously Rockstar hit a homerun with this game and we will most likely see a sequel (provided in doesn't take the long years in took for this one), but the western genre seems limited especially since this one spanned the time frame and ended when Industrialization was kicking into full gear (in the US) and the "western" way of life will be almost non-existent once WW I ends. it isn't like the GTA franchise where they can mimic current cities with a new character in place each time.

this version was very realistic and Rockstar wouldn't muck up that formula (in having machinery, weapons that don't belong) since it made this experience so genuine and a lot of the stuff in the current game wouldn't exist prior.

they would obviously have a new character, but would they pre-date the stories in this one and have weapons and events that would look even more antiquated than the ones we saw in RDR? or same timeframe, new areas?
perhaps just before or during the Civil War? maybe California and the start of the gold rush (pre-1850)? mimic a Billy the Kid or Jesse James story (which are mostly myth anyway)? another country, like Spain?

so what would you want to see and when would the events occur in the next installment?

A remake of Custer's Revenge using an updated version of the Red Dead Redemption engine.

I would like to see it take place in modern times, in a city not unlike New York, with gangsters instead of cowboys.

I think they should do something like this but with a top-down view instead of 3rd person.

I don't know that a sequel is really needed this generation. I'm not sure what else can be done that wouldn't just be a re-hash of what's come before. Maybe a game where you play a young Landon Ricketts would be interesting.

What I'd like to see Rockstar do is a medieval game where you play a Robin Hood-like character. But finish L.A. Noire first!

Civil War era would be cool. I would like to see the character actually screw the hookers instead of just having them tease him.

And they should give you the ability to steal things like autos in a grand style.

Some jungle safari would be cool. Or an Alaskan Gold Rush thing. Or King Arthur times (picturing Princess Bride). Colonial America...

basically the same game in a different setting. The more outdoors....the better.

A semi-sequel set in the port of Miami in the 1880's.

Gold Rush, 50 years prior to RDR, could be an interesting backdrop. Though I'm not sure it would be different enough to warrant another game.

I think maybe you abandon the West and go Chicago Gangster circa Prohibition.

I want my character to get fat if he doesn't regularly skin some wildlife and get dumped on by spinsters when he doesn't go flower picking often enough. The game just didn't feature enough pickin' and skinin'.

Don't fuck it up with a sequel. I never played Red Dead Revolver but I can tell you I have no interest in diluting the Redemption experience with it. Same goes for a sequel, they can't top it, so don't try.

We had cannibals in the game. We're getting zombies on a DLC so legendary monsters could be a possibility. Bring on vampires, werewolves and mummies!

How about Red Dead Redemption: The Crusades. It could take place in the middle-east during the 12th century. Instead of being an outlaw, the main character could be an assassin or something.

Interesting. I would also like the entire game wrapped in a modern-day sequence where all you get to do is walk around one apartment at a very slow pace.
