Can MODS ban a user?
Can moderators here ban a user? Like a spammer etc? Last night the movie forum got flooded for over one hour.
Is it only the admins that can ban a user?
Is it only the admins that can ban a user?

While regular members can't ban a user, remember that the Triangle under a user's avatar can be used to report spam (or anything over the line, for that matter).

I would like the ability for mods to ban new users at least, that way we can do something about spam other than try to delete faster than the spammer posts.

First it's "new" users.
Then it's users whose accounts are < 6 months.
Then it's accounts under 5 years. Then 10 years!
Then it's accounts who don't post every single day!
Then accounts who DO post every single day!
THEN IT'S LITERALLY NAZI GERMANY IN HERE!
Or, like... yeah. I think mods should have this ability.

I'm assuming that admins are the only ones who can suspend a user as well? If not, mods could simply suspend a new user preventing the spam attack until an admin is able to wield the ban hammer.

Never knew mods couldn't ban users - I get technically why it wouldn't be allowed but for garbage spam user accounts, I'm surprised there isn't an exception.
