What are You Playing? (January 2018)
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
Using my SNES Classic to play through Yoshi's Island since it's one of the few main Mario games I've never finished. It came out near the tail end of the SNES and I barely played it.

Night In The Woods (PC).
I'm gonna start working on Thimbleweed Park either on PC or PS4 next. Then probably 2064.

Finishing up Ass Creed Origins, then jumping into it's first DLC, which should hit this month. Not much else on my gaming plate this month... probably just dabble in some unfinished stuff and fighting games.

Finished Wolfenstein 2 just now! I'll shift my focus to Golf Story on the Switch, while probably finding another game to play on Xbox as well. I'm not sure what to play next, maybe i'll keep playing Super Lucky's Tale for something more lighthearted.

I guess finish Destiny 2, but it’s lost luster since last played. Opened up all these new adventure missions when opened up planet Io. Am I near end? I’m maxed at 20 level so figured I am. Figure I’ll just finish campaign and see. Still want to get to finish BioShock 1 and get more into Resident Evil 7. I was liking those. Also, Battlefield 1, CoD: WWII. But, Wolfenstein gave me that yearn. These somewhat but not so much. I want to yearn. Also, Switch and Mario Odyssey is making me tingle, but I think that’s all I’ll play. Maybe Breath of Wild too, but 2 games doesn’t seem worth it. I did see the handheld portion a few days ago at my friends house. I really was amazed by the graphics. Said it looked better than my 55” er. His kid was playing Skyrim, which I have no interest in, but looked fucking good on that small screen...
Anyway, I’m torn is the point...

Playing Romancing Saga 2 for the Xbox One. A JPRG's dream game, seriously. Like most rpgs I'm playing to enjoy the game and not so much for achievements. Unlike Infinite Minigolf where I keep frustrating myself with short putts just so I can get another achievement here and there.

Picked up some tables over the holidays for both Pinball Arcade and Zaccaria Pinball, so I'll be spending a bunch of time with those.

Wrapped up Night In The Woods: Weird Autumn Edition (PC). That's my favorite sad millenial simulator ever.
Starting Doki Doki Literature Club (PC) tonight. Also, still working on Ever Oasis (3DS).

I'm making my way through my backlog quickly. The first two on my list were Jotun (PS4) and Observer (PS4) both of which I didn't like (gave about an hour and a half to each) and deleted. Now onto Golf Story (Switch)!

Finished playing this on Xbox over the weekend. What a fantastic game. Very inventive and creative use of story telling; the way some sequences play out may be some of the most interesting and memorable ways i've seen in a game in years, no wonder it won story and narrative awards. It's short, but the perfect length for what it is.

Finished up Golf Story.
Fun little game, as I think I said in either last month's thread or in the Switch thread, way more fun and entertaining then it should be. It's nothing amazing or ground breaking, but a fun little RPG that breezes along quickly for it's ~15 hour game time that has some silly fun and decent/simple golf mechanics.
I'm on a roll this year!

I'm still playing World of Tanks (xbox one).
I've been hooked on playing that game for well over a year now. And so far, I've spent $0 on micro transactions.

Wrapped up Doki Doki Literature Club (PC). Had I played that last year it would've been a GOTY contender for me. What a crazy and unique experience. I ended up buying the fanpack for $9.99 on Steam just to support the developer for making such a crazy (and free) game.
Onto Super Mario Odyssey.

Re: What are You Playing? (January 2018)
Finally got around to playing The Talos Principle (PS4) after buying it forever ago. Finished it last night and then restored a backup to check out the "other" ending as well. I completed all the standard puzzles, got the three messengers and quite a few stars, but I don't think I have the will to go back and get all the stars and silver sigils. That said, I really loved this game. Beautiful environments and very much in my wheelhouse. I never had to seek help with any of the puzzles, but a couple of them I did have to step away from and come back to before the solution clicked. Fantastic game! Props to The Questyen for him recommending this in one of his past threads.
Now I'm in the middle of Thumper (PS4) and will probably start Little Nightmares (PS4) soon. I'm loving the "old school game" feel of Thumper, in that I can just sit down for 15 minutes and have a really exhilarating experience, getting through a few loops without having to be engrossed in a narrative or advance to some faraway save point. Totally different game, but reminds me of why I still love to play Kaboom! on Atari 2600.
