Does it get any sexier? (LG 4K OLED bendable tv)

By far the sexiest 65" tv I ever seen. I think this is the beginning of great things to come with bendable OLED. I bet in a few years they will ship rolled up in a tube packaging instead of a box. I also love how the tv gets it's power from the speaker base.

$8k at https://www.amazon.com/LG-OLED65W7P/...OLED+Wallpaper

When they start to go for under $3K I would seriously consider getting one and put my current OLED in the bedroom.

If it can't do 3D then I don't want it, and at $8000 for a 65-inch screen there's no reason for it not to. As long as decent speakers remain the size they've always been, there's really no practical reason to need a screen that thin anyways. Only real advantage to that design is possibly being able to move it without the risk of it cracking. Those scenic pictures are built into the TV and show when there's no signal, my LG was just updated with those same ones.

These wallpaper thin screens are going to be great once we get screens large enough to start replacing projectors with smaller screens like mine. The weight/bulk of large TVs will not be missed.

Of course it can get sexier - Kate Upton could have unboxed it instead of that annoying douche. Other than that, I’d love to get one of those TV’s. I guess when I get rich or they drop majorly in price.

17 lbs. A TV that size that weighs the same as my 1 year old, that's slick. It would look a bit ridiculous with my current setup, with my tower speakers and whatnot, but what a great television. It's cool seeing technology change at the pace it has been.

Yeah, when I got my OLED I thought 57 lbs was light.

3D is almost completely dead. LG and Sony dropped it this year, and most other manufacturers have been dropping it for quite a while.

I really enjoy the passive 3D on my 2016 OLED, and I'm not even a big 3D fan. They finally got it right only to drop it.

It’ll make a return on TV’s in the next few years.

Cnet's had it in for 3D since the beginning. I wish they'd let me write for them so I could similarly crap all over things that I don't like (like any variant of cable/satellite TV.) I'll NEVER accept 3D being dead; I already bought a new LG when the news broke and it'll be the last TV I ever buy if 3D really is gone for good- could care less about how thin it is!

I feel like this has come up before so maybe I forget the response, but I don't see how or why it would, especially since I can't imagine consumer interest in the technology picking up again.

With hundreds of 3D Blu-Rays already out there with more still coming, that should be enough to justify having SOMETHING to play them on. It doesn't even cost that much to include- the industry just had unrealistically high expectations for it to set the world on fire and got all butthurt when it didn't.

There's no need for this internal combustion thingie. My Stanley Steamer works fine!
