This is going back a bit. I read her first book, Birdman, years ago but didn't pick any more in that series (police procedurals aren't my favorite genre). Though I really liked two other books of hers that aren't in that series (Pig Island and Devil of Nanking).

My book club is reading Zeitoun by Dave Eggers this month. Really hoping I can finish my copy, but it's a packed month.

My review in a gif:

While I thought The Three Body Problem and The Dark Forest seemed to wrap up the story in a very satisfying way, this third book is just jaw dropping in its scale, intelligence, emotion, and imagination.

Over the last few years, I had lost track of Brian Keene's releases. Previously I had read The Rising, City of the Dead, Earthworm Gods, Ghoul, Entombed, and Dark Hollow. Even this book is a few years old, so I'm not familiar with his newer stuff. This was ok. It was fast and nasty, though very derivative (especially King's Under the Dome and The Mist). And there were points where the dialog was so idiotic it just pulled me out of the story. I do like the tie-ins with the multiverse mythology of some of his other books.

Re: What Are You Reading?(September 2017)

Haven't read anything for about a month, I'd start something then just zone out and be on the same page for ten minutes, I think it was the hot weather and not really having anything I cared about reading. I did just start this today:
