Arch Enemey - Will To Power (9/08/17)
I've been a casual fan of the band when Angela was the lead vocalist and I do like Alissa as their current vocalist -- I'm gonna buy their new album on vinyl next week.
They're playing at The Wiltern in the fall, as well.

Alissa has such a nice voice, I always wonder if she's going to mess it up with the growly vocals. I really liked her work with Kamelot.

She's working on a solo record now with special guests (Jeff Loomis is one of them) and Angela is also managing that project, too. She's making tracks.

I just purchased VIP tickets to see them in November. I've met them two previous times. I love everything they've done and am looking forward to the new album. I'll just get the regular digipak deluxe version, around $12 at Amazon or Target right now. My two favorite bands right now are probably Arch Enemy and Kreator.

I liked Alissa's alternating between clean singing and growling when she was with The Agonist. Arch Enemy has their sound, and she conforms to that sound, but I miss the cleans. I don't really like Kamelot's output, so her singing there doesn't do much for me. I'm optimistic about her solo album though.

Just listened to the new album and there are clean vocals in a couple of songs which was cool. I like the album -- it's pretty solid. I'll probably get War Eternal next.

After a couple listens it's solid but War Eternal is much more focused and memorable in my opinion.
Also, I am a huge Jeff Loomis fan, and yet I don't find his solos on this record very memorable either. He needs to get himself a full-time non-instrumental band where he's the primary writer again because his talent is wasted in Arch Enemy.
