HOME AGAIN stars Reese Witherspoon as Alice Kinney in a modern romantic comedy. Recently separated from her husband, (Michael Sheen), Alice decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters. During a night out on her 40th birthday, Alice meets three aspiring filmmakers who happen to be in need of a place to live. Alice agrees to let the guys stay in her guest house temporarily, but the arrangement ends up unfolding in unexpected ways. Alice's unlikely new family and new romance comes to a crashing halt when her ex-husband shows up, suitcase in hand. HOME AGAIN is a story of love, friendship, and the families we create. And one very big life lesson: Starting over is not for beginners.
Opens 9/8/17.

The ads for this one are a jumbled mess. "Reese Witherspoon, and here are 5 guys and Shirley Schmidt."

Yeah same here. The trailer is confusing. One guy is her lover and the others I have no clue. Like Reese, but I want to read some reviews about this.

I'll definitely rent it when it's out because of Reese. But no way I'm seeing this in the theatres (unless the lady requests).

Damn, when I saw the title I immediately thought of a Home Alone sequel with Macaulay Culkin as the father.
Or with Reese, a sequel to Sweet Home Alabama.

I love Reese and Michael but this looks like shit.
And this? Never happens in real life.

This got the most middling review in the paper I've read in a while. It wanted to give props that the twist of the man trying to be sweet to the kids at a crucial moment instead of focusing on the woman is nice, but it couldn't quite say that, either.

Wife and I saw it yesterday and it was enjoyable. It wasnt your typical romantic comedy. Reese is still great, and the 3 guys were cool, not douchebags like you would expect.

[QUOTE=story;13153499]Are you probably going to catch a matinee because the director is easy on the eyes? Otherwise, each of those sentences is its own paragraph, why!/QUOTE]
I just got around to watching this today. I didn't just see it because the director is good looking. Her mom and dad are both directors and I wanted to see if she had any talent as a writer and director myself. I enjoyed the movies that her parents directed. You would think if you grew up around film sets and the movie industry, you might have a bit of an advantage on other directors.
Overall, the directing is ok, but the script needed a lot of work. It almost feels that they shot a rough draft or second draft script. The premise is decent, but the dialogue needed work. Also, there are a few comedy cliches that could have been written out. Reese is good in this as usual, but her love interest just looked way too young for her. She's 41 in real life. Pico Alexander is 25, but looks 17. I thought that just seemed wrong. Overall, I'd give it a 3/5. I feel like she should have let her mom do a little bit of work on the script. It needed it.
