U2 Songs of Experience
Looks like the Promo Tour is about to begin...
The Blackout (above) arrives Aug 30, and "The Best Thing" (first single) arrives Sept 6.
Album rumored to be released Dec 1.
They are still wrapping up the 30th Anniversary of The Joshua Tree tour and will be touring that until October. Album out end of the year, and they go back to arenas (using the I&E staging) sometime next year (Spring?)

Did they peak with All That You Can Leave Behind and How to Dismantle at Atomic Bomb?
Their last 2 albums did not produce a lot of hit singles though I still like some of the songs on those records.

Listened to ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’ today and thought it was alright.

I am the outlier here. I think Songs Of Innocence is down there at the bottom of their catalog along with Zooropa and Pop. I do not like the new single very much.
I think All That You Can't Leave Behind is one of their better albums.

I thought Songs of Innocence was ok, not great. There were a couple tracks I really enjoyed like "The Miracle" and "Iris". I thought it was definitely a better album than "No Line on the Horizon". I also thought HTDAAB was pretty good but imo their last truly great album was All That You Can't Leave Behind. None of their albums released since have come close to it.

I also think there are a lot of great songs on Pop. To me it sounds a little unfinished, but it's a really strong record overall.

U2 EXPERIENCE + INNOCENCE TOUR
In May the band are back out on the road when the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour opens in North America. #U2eiTour
Just as the new album Songs of Experience is a companion to 2014’s Songs of Innocence, the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour is a sequel to 2015's iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour which saw 'U2 reinvent the arena show’ (Rolling Stone) and was named the #1 concert of 2015 by The New York Times.
Tickets for the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour go on general sale on November 20th with presales opening on Tuesday November 14th. In a new development, designed to keep tickets out of the hands of scalpers and bots, this time around ALL North American ticket sales go exclusively through the Verified Fan platform. (Please Note: Every ticket purchased will include one (1) copy of U2’s new album, "Songs of Experience”, to be released December 1, 2017. Be on the lookout for a separate email with instructions around how you can redeem your album(s). Prior to December 1, you will have the opportunity to pre-order one CD per ticket purchased. Once the digital album becomes available on December 1, fans will have the choice of either a CD or digital album at the time of redemption. One album per ticket. US/Canadian residents only. Not valid for Fan to Fan Resale.)
As usual, U2.com subscribers will be first in line with their own exclusive window when presales open - but U2.com subscribers must register as Verified Fans by November 10th. Read the updated FAQs.
