Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

Nozomi Ent. Launches a Kickstarter campaign for Headline Studios to produce an english dub for Aria the Animation season 1.

<iframe src="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/160939828/lets-dub-aria-the-animation/widget/card.html?v=2" width="220" height="420" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

If funded it would be released on blu-ray and a chance for more seasons or animes from Nozomi to get dubbed. If the funding fails Nozomi most likely wont give any other animes a chance for an english dub.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

Just past the halfway mark of 55,000 after exactly 27 hours.

you can also see projections and daily stats useing Kicktraq .com
https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/16...n/#chart-daily

Using Kicktraq I have been comparing Aria The Animation daily data to how Skip Beat Kickstarter did. So far after the first two days Aria the Animation is going to blow right past how Skip Beat did.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

Stretch Goal 1: 5.1 Audio

The music for Aria the Animation is calming and beautiful. So, our first stretch goal is to increase pledges enough to mix the new English Dubbed track in 5.1 - allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the auditory peacefulness of Aqua. Should we reach $120,000 in pledges, this 5.1 mix will be added to the production.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

I have no doubt we will make $260,000

When I get home I am changing my pledge to $95 from $55

The Chipboard Box and Lithograph and other stuff is more than worth it, you can't buy a Limited Edition more awesome then that.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

Looks like they'll pass the goal for Season Two: Part 1 ($180,000) sometime today.

That'll also unlock some new Tiers which should include the Season 2: Part 1 Blu-Ray set. Hopefully it'll unleash a new surge of pledges. It would be nice if they get the full Season 2 funded ($240K).

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

If I bought the old early bird $95 tier do I have to do anything to get the new $95 tier?

Edit: their are things missing from the new $95 tier like the chipboard box and other stuff. I would rather get the second season though.

$135 is the new Prima Plus early bird

Only $10,000 more for the rest of season 2, once the new tiers unlock I think it would jump another $30,000 in a day again.

Looks like they'll pass $240K soon and unlock Season 2: Part 2.

I wonder if they'll add stretch goals for the OVA and Season 3?

Have there been any disastrous anime kickstarters where things didn't turn out so well? The ones I'm familiar with have been all successes.

Here is one from Sekai Project that failed pretty bad, Sekai Project have done many Kickstarters. Clannad visual novel and The Grisaia Trilogy was two of their most successful ones.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

That's not really anime, though, that's a game, right?

Most of the anime kickstarters I've seen are basically the companies already having the license but pursuing money for dubs or a Bluray release. Since they already have the license they would still do a release outside of the Kickstarter, just without a new dub. As such they seem more to be an effort to subsidize their business than a true kickstarted idea, but there is something to be said for getting fans to pay full price for something that will inevitably be available (in a regular edition) at a significant discount later.

Closest one (if you want to count it as anime) is probably Robotech Academy. Harmony Gold canceled the Kickstarter campaign because it was doing very poorly.

Re: Kickstarter for Aria the Animation English Dub

Season 3 + Avvenire are priced at $360K.

That's another $65,000. I don't know if they'll make it. The tiers between 300K and 360K are pretty lackluster.

Wow! They just passed $360K. The full series is funded! I didn't think they'd make it.
