has anyone ever tried or knows of a good photo scanning service?

So I am looking to digitize my massive old collection of photos (long overdue) and I was wondering... has anyone ever tried or knows of a good photo scanning service? Where you send them a box and they return it with a CD or something.

Hello,

I would like to share the details of the website that can provide you the same service as you want. They are professional in their work and have very good experience. The company name Scan N More. You can go through their website..

Re: has anyone ever tried or knows of a good photo scanning service?

I was bored and thought I would check this out.

It looks like a legit company but only deals with other companies rather than individual consumers. They only operate in CA, NV and AZ since either the company has to drop off documents at their facilities or they will duplicate onsite at the place of business.

If the OP ever comes back, I'd suggest do a Google search locally for someone that does what you need.

I would be hesitant to send out photos that are not replaceable through the mail. If they get lost, you would not have them any more. Couldn't you use just a scanner on your home computer. if theyre photos you could get a scanner that just rolls the pictures through and it would be quicker.

Re: has anyone ever tried or knows of a good photo scanning service?

I just read an article on this a month or so ago. One of the suggestions was to use google's photo scan app. Apparently it's pretty intuitive, with good results. Otherwise, their suggestion was to use a mail-in-service.

I tried using a home printer/scanner all-in-one thing, and it was insanely slow. I gave up after only a handful of pictures.
