Awesome.
I always thought CBS missed an opportunity in not getting him to transition over to 60 Minutes.

I really hope this is the trend in interviews for the future. The Late Night/Early Morning Talk Show interviews are just awful these days as they are 2 segments of one dopey story and then the actor promoting their TV show/movie. I enjoy Podcast interviews more these days because they can go more indepth and the guest is more apt to open up more in a 1 hour back and forth.

Sounds awesome! I'm overwhelmed with original scripted content I can never catch up on. A weekly interview show is something I would take the time to watch weekly.

Great news, I really missed Dave. Wonder if he will keep his epic beard?

So excited about this. I miss Letterman as well.
I always thought he was very good interviewing guests when it was something he cared about or found interesting.
I wish this was more than just 6 episodes.

That could have worked well, provided it was more in the vein of an Andy Rooney than a Mike Wallace. I just think people would have a hard time taking him seriously if his tone were to shift that drastically.

Maybe it will be like the Charlie Rose or Tavis Smiley show.
Sam Jones on Directv does the best interviews on TV.

Dave is great but honestly he should trim up his beard. He looks pretty haggard.

Watched the first episode with Obama. It was good. I like Dave in the in-depth interview format.
I guess these air just once a month, so that sucks.

The part when he walked across the Selma bridge was amazing.
While Dave and John Lewis walked, casually across the bridge I couldn’t help but think how the times are different and better now,
I got a little emotional.

Today of all days, it was very disheartening to listen to Barack Obama speak so thoughtfully while his successor . . . (no need to go on)

That was excellent. I really liked the part, near the end, where Obama asks Letterman if he feels like he's been lucky, and Letterman responds that he's been nothing but lucky. That when John Lewis was in Selma, Dave was on a trip to the Bahamas for another shit-faced weekend.
It's less of a 'guilt' thing and more of a 'why wasn't I even paying attention?' thing for him, it seemed.

It just absolutely sucks that Obama is no longer our POTUS. He was so articulate, thoughtful, compassionate and relatable not to mention funny.
It just hurts to think what we have now, instead, that much more.
Looking forward to the next installment.

But maybe we should yearn for one of the nicest Presidents ever in Jimmy Carter who left office with Hostages in Iran, 15% inflation and 20% interest rates!

I was a little disappointed in the interview. It wasn't bad or anything, and it was good to see Dave back on TV, but nothing about it made me feel like "ooh, we're really getting to something here." It didn't help that I read total raves about it before watching it.
