Anyone else watching this? I think it's great. It wasn't on my radar at all, but I saw a couple of previews and decided to check it out on-demand.

Pilot didn't do much for me. The wife wants to watch it so I'll probably wind up seeing some more of it.

Re: People of Earth (TBS) -- Series Thread

It's been pretty good.
It was great seeing H Jon Benjamin. I was looking away from the screen when his character first showed up so all I heard was his voice and I said to myself, "Archer?"

Re: People of Earth (TBS) -- Series Thread

Is this show an allegory for how bad Jon Stewart supposedly treated Wyatt?

It's not bad. Worth a look.

Was funny seeing Jon Benjamin. I was looking away from the screen when his character first showed up so all I heard was his voice and I said to myself, "Bob Belcher?"

The first season is watchable, though the show is more endearing than laugh-out-loud funny. The actor playing Ozzy is very likable. I get a vibe from the show as Parks and Recreation about aliens visiting Earth.

I'm a big fan of this show. It's like the X-Files but a comedy. And there's a certain creepiness to it as well. It's addicting to me. Here's a Facebook group for the show BTW - facebook.com/peopleofearthfans

I liked the first two episodes of the season. Gerry and Jeff were funny on the ship. I have the feeling that Ozzie will eventually be paired with the FBI agent.

I'm liking this season so far and I'm glad that they aren't dragging out Walsh's revelation until the end of the season.

Re: People of Earth (TBS) -- Series Thread

I enjoy this show despite finding it only mildly funny. It's refreshing to find a show where most of the characters are likable people. It's not the mean style of comedy that has become so common.

The show does work best when the story is centered around Ozzie. I wonder if the FBI agent has an alien experience.

Someone on reddit has a theory that the agent is a hybrid. I can see this show doing something like that because of the hybrid stories that have been going around in the UFO/alien abduction communities. Other shows and movies about alien abduction have taken on the hybrid angle, but here it could somehow played up for comedic purposes.

Based on the flashback, my take is that her mother was abducted and gave birth on the ship. Maybe something went wrong and the mother died and the aliens abandoned her at that store.

I was surprised the writers went there. It looks like they are trying to change up the format of the show.

Article contains spoilers.

Wow, that is one of the more disastrous creative decisions a television series has made since they got rid of Bo and Luke on Dukes of Hazzard for replacement actors.

I like the ensemble cast but the show was about Ozzie. This has to be a money issue or something. Often in these ensemble shows with no real lead the contract will have an out for theatrical work.

Wait, so Ozzie's death is real? I was sure that he was gonna be brought back some how.

Based on articles and interviews it's real, bu somewhere the show's EPs gave some small hope about them playing with "back from the dead" trope.

Renewed for season 3.

I have been enjoying the past few episodes even though Ozzie is gone. The storyline with Agent Foster has been quite interesting and Nasim was a great addition to this season. The alien experiencer expo episode was pretty funny.
