Here's the trailer for the Pilot to "The Saint"

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qhEI_jDRZw8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's was screened earlier this month. No network has picked it up yet.

This is the same character that Roger Moore played in the old TV series, which probably no one here is old enough to remember. And also by Val Kilmer in the 1997 feature film.

Nice that Moore made the trailer. Can't say it looks terribly exciting however. Be curious to see if a network, cable or streaming provider picks this up.

Looks decent to me. Plus, it has Eliza.

It seems like it might be a good fit on USA, along the lines of Burn Notice and White Collar.

Ian Ogilvy is also there in the trailer in the scenes with Roger Moore. Ogilvy played the Saint in the 70's version.

Re: Roger Moore to guest star on "The Saint" reboot Pilot

So this is a bump for a 4-year old thread.

The Pilot for this proposed TV series was never picked up (go figure)

However, the producers decided to salvage it and they shot new footage and made it into a self contained 96 minute TV movie. It was just released a week ago. Simon West directed the original Pilot, but they credited a new director for this version.

Anyways, I watched it a few days ago and it was pretty dull. It was a pretty by the numbers procedural type movie. Adam Rayner (Bassam from Tyrant) was a super wooden lead. No charisma at all as Templar. Eliza Dushku played his right hand person. She was cool, but had nothing to work with really. She was kind of the tech/weapons person. She had no chemistry with Rayner.

Roger Moore had a quick 3-4 minute cameo near the end. Pretty pointless. I guess if the show got picked up, he would have made occasional appearances.

I think there was supposed to be a long-running adversary to Templar in the proposed series. However, in this version, they shot a wrap-up to end the plot involving the villain.

In some scenes Rayner was wearing the beard he had in Tyrant (beginning and end) and the middle he was clean shaven. I'm guessing the scenes with him in the beard were shot while he was working on Tyrant. He shot the original Pilot before he was cast in Tyrant.

Anyways, it's out there in digital world, but it was a pretty forgettable movie. Rayner was okay on Tyrant, but he just doesn't have the charisma to play Templar. I can see why no network picked this up.
