Odd music choice.

Looks like a Winters Bone TV series in some ways

Looks good. Shows like this are better than movies now. I first heard that from William Friedkin during a Killer Joe interview.

I'll also have to check this out as this is my old stomping ground (lived at Lake of the Ozarks from 1983-1990 and have vacationed there several times since). Interesting that IMDb shows it was primarily filmed in Georgia, but do list the Bagnell Dam Strip as a filming location also. I spent many wasted nights from my youth on that strip! It was almost like the strip was exempt from the legal drinking age (at least in the '80s).

I love Laura Linney so this is a guaranteed watch.

Why can't Jason Bateman get the money from the banana stand? There's always money in the banana stand!

I'm on episode 4. Wow, fantastic show and Bateman also directed 4 of the episodes.

I'm on episode 3 & am enjoying this a lot more than Netflix's most recent offerings. Bateman is fantastic, I never really think of him as a serious actor but he's nailing it.

Plus I can't say it enough but I really, really appreciate how Netflix feeds me a steady diet of 4k content. Who else does this for thirteen bucks a month?

Just watched the first episode and thought it was pretty good, but can't help but compare to Breaking Bad. I'm hoping Bateman gives the character more emotion in the next episodes. I was surprised how little emotion he had with
Spoiler:
a gun to his head, his friends getting shot, his wife cheating, a body falling from the sky...

I am now on the last episode which is 80 minutes on its own, so I will be savoring it. For those that are staying the course wait until you get to episode 7. The flashback episode.
Spoiler:
You will see how complicit Marty and his family were with 'ol Del and his operation. They're not the innocent white collar family we are led to believe.

Just finished it -- that final episode went for jugular! Wow, here's hoping it gets renewed for a second season. I think Jason Bateman will get an Emmy nomination. He was great.

Yeah, just finished episode 3 and am totally sucked in. Yes, there are many parallels with Breaking Bad, but this show is surprisingly good... way better than I thought it'd be. And yeah, Jason Bateman can actually act!

Watched the first episode and really liked it. Not sure how I feel about Jason Bateman (I still remember him as a teenager on Silver Spoons and the Hogan Family and trying to get past that), as I hope I buy him as his character the same way I buy James Galdofini as Tony Soprano or Bryan Cranston as Walter White.

I have only watched the first episode. Slow start, but man it was fantastic. The whole time I kept thinking "is that Esai Morales from La Bamba?" and it was.

Really good shit. Can't wait to watch more.

Wife and I watched the first two episodes last night. We're hooked. I felt tense the whole time.

If that's the only exposure you've had to Bateman, you need to do yourself a favor and watch "Arrested Development" (TV show) and "The Gift" (thriller).

Towards the end of the show I also got a "Justified" vibe to it, so we can say it's a mix of Breaking Bad and Justified.

I'm sure folks have already picked up on the Justified bits.

My wife and I binged this over the weekend and we LOVED it. Great writing and stellar acting from everyone (except maybe Charlotte), one of the best Netflix originals to date.

Especially the "redneck vs. hillbilly" speech.

She's a relatively new actress. She's cute. She plays a 15 year old but is 18 in real life.

The curly haired girl looks like jailbait on the show, but is actually 23. I was like woah. I'm sure she cleans up well, though.
