Re: Suits (USA) -- Season 7 Thread -- Premieres 7/12/17
So I finally caught up with season.
I love Donna, but C'mon advancing from Corporate secretary to COO? That's kind of a reach.
I am impressed that she had $500,000 stashed away for her buy-in. I mean living in New York and the place she has must be super expensive. She must have been paid really well or was living super frugally (unlikely for her character)
Louis' storyline with his therapist is kind of dumb.

Re: Suits (USA) -- Season 7 Thread -- Premieres 7/12/17
The in-universe explanation is that Harvey paid Donna a ridiculous salary when she worked for him. Louis was flabbergasted when he had to equal that when she worked for him. Very little of this show makes sense in a real world setting (Rachel the Paralegal, who has a sweet office with a window, bossing around 4th year associates, who work in a cubicle farm!), so I guess we just have to go along with it.
I read somewhere that the actress who plays Rachel has requested no more intimate scenes with the actor who plays Mike due to her real life relationship with Prince Harry. If the British press wanted to attack her, she must be aware of the love scenes she's already done though that they can easily obtain?

So can Harvey take Pearson off the name and have it be Specter, Litt and the Donna?
I'm sure its putting Louis in an uncomfortable position when he has to deliver making Katrina the youngest partner in the firm. Isn't Mike younger than her?

Show seems to be running on fumes now.
Still not clear to me how Mike is still practicing law, he should have been disbarred about 10 times by now. The story line of him cutting corners for the right reason and then having to protect himself from the repercussions needs to be retired.
I liked the Louis story line on the last episode though. It was a nice change of pace.

Midseason finale aired tonight. Interview with Suits creator on the big scene.
He's pretty confident the show will come back for a 8th season even though all the actors contracts are up after this season.

Ive just binge watched suits from the beginning having never seen it before
Overall, very good show (not quite great). every single character has moments of annoyance and stupidity.
The earlier seasons before Mike's fraud trial were the best. The mike in prison and mike getting his law license were a bit far fetched
I'll keep watching for sure

'Suits': Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle Eye Exit Ahead of Likely Season 8
Some very big changes are coming for USA Network's Suits.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the NBCUniversal-owned cable network is close to a deal to renew its "Blue Skies" procedural for an eighth season as stars Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle plot their exit from the Aaron Korsh-created series.
Reps for Adams, Markle, USA Network and producers Universal Cable Productions all declined comment.
Adams has been with the series for all seven seasons and recently started directing episodes of the legal procedural, the last remaining drama from USA Network's "Blue Skies" brand (before the cabler went darker after the success of Mr. Robot). Adams earned a SAG Award nomination for his role as likeable bad-boy lawyer Mike Ross. Sources note he is looking to pursue other creative avenues beyond Suits. He has been in contract talks for months but now appears poised to exit. Sources note that should Adams indeed exit Suits as a series regular, the door will remain open for him to potentially return in season eight in a guest or recurring capacity (as well as potentially directing). Suits did the same with Gina Torres, who exited the show midway through season six but returned for that season's finale and is returning for the season seven finale — which is being eyed as a potential spinoff revolving around the actress' Jessica Pearson character.
Markle co-stars as Rachel Zane, a paralegal-turned-lawyer at the show's law firm who is engaged to marry Adams' Mike. Speculation about Adams and Markle's exits resurfaced over the weekend as the duo were spotted on the show's Toronto set filming a wedding scene. Speculation that Markle, an avid philanthropist who has also been with Suits since its start, could exit Suits started almost immediately after she started dating Prince Harry in 2016. Her departure opens the door for a potential royal wedding, which has been wildly speculated since Markle met Queen Elizabeth.
For its part, Suits ranks as USA Network's second-highest-rated scripted series (behind only the yet-to-be renewed Jessica Biel anthology The Sinner.) The drama, produced in-house at Universal Cable Productions, now seems poised to further lean into Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter, who has been the focal point for the drama since its start.
Creator/showrunner Korsh, meanwhile, has spoken openly about his long-term goal for Suits. "I originally thought Suits could possibly go seven or eight seasons. But I wouldn't limit it now, not when I see shows like Grey's Anatomy lasting much longer. There are stories left to tell," he told THR for a feature pegged to the drama's 100th episode.
Korsh is currently readying the Suits spinoff with Torres. The pilot will air as a planted episode in Suits' currently season seven and is slated to be the finale that will air in the first quarter of 2018. The episode will reunite Harvey (Macht), Mike (Adams), Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) and Rachel (Markle) with their old friend Jessica (Torres) as she adjusts to her new life in Chicago. When she is forced to enter the dirty world of Chicago politics, Pearson must rely on her legal wits and valiant relationships from Pearson Specter Litt to navigate this unknown territory.

I've already found it less interesting now that Mike has been exposed.
I may give it a brief chance without Mike and Rachel, but I have zero interest in the Jessica spinoff.

The show is kind of running on fumes, but honestly it doesn't bother me that Adams and Markle (obviously) are not coming back. I kind of welcome it.
Adams role as Mike has been slowly diminishing over the past year or so and Rachel (Markle) is just annoying. I think it's become more about Harvey, Donna and Louis at this point.
Hope they make season 8 the final season.
I made it through 7 years, I went to see this through to it's definite end.
