Were you not impressed by The Twilight Zone in HD? I haven't watched those discs in a few years, but at the time, I thought it was jaw-droppingly gorgeous, in the same league as many of the best-looking B&W feature films of the era.

But it looks like it was one of those series that was shot on film and edited on tape, so they wouldneed to go back and reassemble the full episodes like they did for TNG.
At this point, I'd settle for full season DVDs with the uncensoredepisodes.

I might consider getting TOL on blu-ray since I have the original DVD releases that were on DVD-14 and DVD-18 discs. I haven't revisited them in years, so I don't know if they're even playable. I had to exchange one set about nine times before I got one that would even play.

I already have TOS on DVD, I'm still waiting for a proper release of the new Outer Limits series. All we have right now are the edited Canadian releases.

Doing post-production on tape wasn't prevalent until the 1980s. I'd expect that the original Outer Limits was finished on film.

I'm pretty sure that he's responding to DthRdrX's mention of the newer series that started in '95. The original series would absolutely have been finished on film.

this is INCREDIBLE news!! Been waiting for years.. never thought it would see light of day. Fans of the show should be encouraging studios to bring out classic TV on bluray by purchasing this.. I only hope there are some special features...

Would you believe that I still have the old, crappy DVD of Season one unopened after all of these years? It's true, this should be a revelation in quality, if encoded and transfered properly to Blu-ray.
The DVDs, from my understanding are very, very poor. Not only from VHS sources, but encoded at an extremely low bitrate, in order to cram the entire series on as few DVDs as possible.
So, I'll happily upgrade to Blu, but knowing how things usually go with Blu-ray releases, there will likely be some major screwup somewhere. They may try to release it in 16x9 non-OAR, or some such crap. This happened with THE WORLD AT WAR, which has since been re-released in proper OAR. I'll definitely wait for reviews before buying.

For a few hopeful moments I thought this meant the 1990s series was coming to Blu-ray, which I almost like more than the original Outer Limits.
The DVDs for Outer Limits were dreadful, so new transfers are essential.

I will be getting this for sure, but I have to say that anyone that is a fan of TTZone should trade up for the BDs while they can. They are outstanding.

I bought both seasons digitally from Amazon years ago on sale and should watch them someday. I bought the new series at the same time, but they're three 12-episode "volumes" rather than complete seasons.

* from "DVDSoon", I think. I'm still waiting to use the credits they gave me for a couple of orders they never fulfilled.

I own both the original DVDs (so far no playback issues) and the Australian set (backup set just in case - plus it's SS). I love the series but, coming from Kino Lorber, I expect it to be a bit pricey so will hold off for early reviews before making a purchase. But I really want this one. The DVDs, while watchable, just don't look that good. If they get TZ quality I'll spring for it for sure.
I, too, would like to see a re-release of unedited "New Outer Limits." I picked up the sampler discs, not expecting much, and was surprised at how well that one was done. After that I went ahead and picked up the US S1 (bargain price) and a few of the Canadian edited seasons but have yet to watch any of them.

Re: The Outer Limits is coming to Blu-ray - S1 on 3/27/18
It's more than I'm willing to spend right now, but still, the MSRP of the first season of The Twilight Zone came in at the same price point in 2010. As long as it retails for something closer to what I paid for those season sets, I'll be happy. (...and if there are crazy sales as we've seen for so many other Kino Lorber titles over the past few months, then even better!)

At that price, it's a skip.
Wonder if they'll try and to sell season 2 at the $100 MSRP, too.

Yikes. I didn't initially read the description and thought it was for the entire series.
