Just saw them in Napa, and they said they recorded an entire album secretly...... hope it is true!

Song is alright. Not sure if I'd say it's one of their most memorable singles but it's decent. A new album would be cool. It took a while for Sonic Highways to grow on me but I like it quite a bit. I think Wasting Light was overall a stronger album though.

I liked both Wasting Light and Sonic Highways. New single didn't impress me on the first listen, but may grow on me. Either way, glad to see they have a new album coming out.

As someone who hasn't really cared for the Foos since There Is Nothing Left to Lose, I actually didn't think this was too bad.

I liked it. Video kinda reminded me of Seether's Same Damn Life video, but Seether's video is played more for humor.

I really do not care for the song. But I hated White Limo too the first time I heard it and it grew on me. Maybe this one will too. I would love to hear a full new album.

They still have that generic sound to them - I guess a lot of people like that sort of thing. I did love how heavy it got...a few times throughout.

I disagree that their sound is generic. Maybe what you mean is that their sound is very distinctive - as in you know its a Foo song even when you never heard it before.

I feel like the song is too long, however.

Yeah, I don't really think the Foos are generic sounding but they do have a distinctive style to a lot of their songs. Agree that the new song is a tad too long.

I actually think they've gotten better as time has gone by. The only album by them I don't listen to a lot is One By One. Just seems like their most forgettable album to me but I like all their output pretty much.

I'd be in the camp that they've gotten more generic and overproduced as time has gone on. Their first three albums are their best.

Awesome. They're also going to be fairly close to me on their tour so I'm going to try to see them for a third time.

Last time I saw the Foos they opened for RHCP and stole the show. May check them out on this tour.

They were great both times I saw them. The second time I saw them was when Grohl had a broken leg and was using the "throne" and he was still full of energy. If I can get tickets I'm definitely going to try and see them again.

They said more dates are coming. I'm sure this is just the first leg of the tour. Frankly I think it's cool that they're going to some uncommon places. The bigger cities get more than their share of shows.

Really don't care for the studio version but the Live from 606 for BBC1 Radio is absolutely killer. Too bad it doesn't carry over to the record.

Haven't even heard the BBC1 live performance yet. But yeah, I could see that. I didn't care for this studio version at all. It's not bad, but it's not a particularly good either. Sounds more like a B-side than a single. Can't wait to hear them play this live when I see them in October!

Listened to the new album for a quick bit today ...meh. Not their best, but also not their worst. I think they're way past their prime, and unless they shake things up, they're just gonna coast like all aging rock acts do.

Re: Foo Fighters -- "Concrete and Gold" -- 9/15/17

It is taking me a few listens to really get into this, so my initial response is that I am slightly disappointed. Not what I was hoping for - I'm all for experimentation and I love the harmonies etc, but the lyrics, energy and hooks seem to be severely lacking. I love the first 5 tracks but then the others kind of bleed together for me - with Sunday Rain standing out just because it's Taylor on lead vocals. I hope it'll grow on me more. Foo Fighters may be 'past their prime' but I wouldn't say WAY past - Wasting Light was only 2 records ago and easily ranks in the upper tier of their catalogue IMO.
