Well... That wasn't a very pleasant episode.
I was expecting something from 'shackles off' Sy, but it certainly didn't happen in this episode.
The beating was tough to listen to. I'm glad it wasn't fatal.
I did love Sy's call to Nikki.
"Who is this?"
"Menachem Begin. Who do you think it is?"

"You have a fat wife."
Wow, three F bombs? Not sure I've heard that many on a non-pay channel before.

Based on the sound of the beating and Sy's reaction to it after they left and how he just stood there freaked out and staring - I assumed she was dead.
This series really offers some interesting villains in each season.
I wonder if making Varga bulimic was an idea that came to them based on Billy Bob (S1 villain) having an eating disorder in real life.

What was their motive for beating MEW? Send a message? Was she mouthing off? What possible connection did they think she has to Stussey Lots?
Also, did they leave her face alone on purpose? If their intent was to kill, they would have beat her about the head and face.

Yeah, if the sounds of the beating were any indication, I thought she was a goner. Surprised she got away with, what looks to be, some bruises to the body (probably some broken ribs).
At this point, assuming Vargas went after her due to her connection with Sy. Those guys are trying to have everything in control and Sy is a loose cannon, as also evidenced by the World's Best Dad scene.

This season has taken a bit longer to get going, but is still pretty exceptional TV. Problem I see is that the only really likeable person is Coon's character and her new sidekick, while the first two seasons had characters we could really care for. Cool thing is I dont see the endgame here yet which is neat.

Maybe Sy thinks she's dead.
Not predicting this or anything, but it would be awesome if the undoing of Vargas was pissing off the even lamer brother because he assumed they were in on some kind of conspiracy against him when it was really just a ridiculous feud between two really idiotic brothers.

If Vargas reports to a sixty-something Mike Milligan, I would be very happy.
