Loved the Ghost Rider stuff here, particularly the scene with he and Quake about mid way through. Also enjoyed Radcliff's ending.

The framework arc with Mack and Yo-Yo fell a little flat for me, and I would have liked more resolution with Fitz and Simmons considering where they started this season compared to where it ended. It also felt weird that they didn't address Ivanov after the attack on the conference -- I mean, his head is still out there building LMD bodies for himself, right?

Anybody else think that ending was Phil Coulson, Agent of SWORD?

Thank God Aida is finally gone and Mack got his head out of ass and woke up.

The Ghost Rider stuff was pretty awesome. Loved him temporarily taking over Coulson and then burning Aida to a crisp.

Not sure what to make about that cliffhanger. They must have gotten clearance to write that kind of ending if they knew they were coming back.

So they didn't use the machine to revive certain characters. I am surprised.

Considering it lead right into a promo for Inhumans, my guess is that they are just tying them together.

I also loved the payoff for Ghost Rider. They didn't have to set him up or explain it at all - just had him there being a badass. Totally worked for me.

What would they have had to explain?

Loved the episode, especially Ghost Rider (Reyes and Coulson). Well put together compared to the DC run-up to finales that I've seen so far (Supergirl, Flash).

So where was Coulson at the end? Near-earth orbit?

I feel that Coulson and Shield got captured by the Kree to be slaves. It may tie to what Yondu said about the Kree having slaves

The first thing I thought of with Coulson being in space was that we might get a SWORD storyline.

I just mean that he could simply come in and kick ass. They correctly avoided any sort of recap or retelling of his story.

Same thing I was thinking. Coulson didn't seem surprised and with the movies moving into space and the Inhumans royal family coming. It would make sense to move them to space to tie into the larger Marvel storyline.

I would think if it was a captured thing he would not have a view like that. We would see a small cell.

I wasn't a big Marvel guy so I couldn't really follow the ending either.

SWORD is a counterpart to SHIELD that deals with extraterrestrial threats, and its headquarters is a space-station known as The Peak. After the events of Avengers, Guardians Vol. 2, and the two Thor movies, it would make sense to have someone out there watching the sky, and with Marvel moving more cosmic it seems like a logical place for the show to go.

Alternatively, they could go for an adaptation of Nick Fury's "man on the wall" from Original Sin, which would leave the story open to not only explore the cosmic stuff but a return to the mystical/extra-dimensional threats too.

Yeah, it definitely seemed like "another day working in space". It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

I think some time has passed between the diner and Phil's sightseeing.

I imagine the new season will dive into something and we'll get treated to one of those "two months earlier" type stories.

Makes sense. I'm betting that want to use it to market Infinity War. One that is done, I don't see the show continuing.
