Pre-order at Funimation for $26.24.
Light on extras, but nice looking coverart.
Looks like subbed and dubbed.

I'll grab a copy to go with my Japanese BD since, you know, it has no subs. Shame the extras look weak but that's why I imported.

I almost imported the BD from Hong Kong.

If it's anything like the theatrical release, the subtitles are gonna be a mess. Every character that speaks and every location gets a title card in japanese so it'll get a translation, and its to an absurd level

I saw it in the theater, and I'm a fast reader but I know I missed stuff. I'll be glad to have the Blu at home to pause on some of the wordier ones.

it's to a point where it'll be "fourth room elevator" and "President's office" get a title which will have its english translation up top and at the bottom the regular subtitles as characters speak.

You know that was intentional, though, right? The idea was to overwhelm viewers with the minutia of bureaucracy, making everything seem like it was important and noteworthy when, in fact, it was actually overkill.

Do Funimation titles go on sale much, ie can I expect to get this for less than $20 at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later)?

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you don't want to wait, I saw that Wal-Mart has it in stores for $19.99. I wasn't planning to pick up, but I ended up buying it anyway since I've recently been watching a lot of monster movies.

I went there during my lunch break to pick up a couple of things. I decided to go by the movie area and found it there. They had the Blu-ray and the DVD editions.

If you want to further cut the costs down, there are other forums that have folks paying $7-8 for the Digital Copy.

You won't be seeing Shin Godzilla hitting $10 by next Christmas, if that is what you are thinking.

I forgot to budget for getting it this week...now I feel silly, having started the thread and all.

Just arrived and watched a few minutes of it, very good picture.
It has the Japanese 5.1 track with English subtitles and a English 5.1 dubbed track. The men doing the talking at the beginning have no Japanese accent, they sound like hard asses...gruff.
There's a trailer, didn't watch it and a discussion with some geeks.
Can't wait to sit down and watch it all the way through. Upscales nicely to 4K.
