Arrow Video sale at Familyvideo - titles start at $9.49, S/H is $1.99 per order

Credit to CrumpsBrother on this thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...-blu-rays.html

Thought this was worthy of its own thread as it features some great prices on good Arrow video titles, which are usually not discounted this much, save for a twice a year sale directly from Arrow Video UK

Familyvideo has a sale on Arrow Video titles starting at $9.49 - flat rate shipping of $1.99 per order. Sale ends 3/31/2017

https://www.familyvideo.com/deals/ar...st_order=price

NOTE: There are three DVDs on sale as well: https://www.familyvideo.com/deals/ar...format_data=23

Awesome!

I picked up Stray Cat Rock and C.H.U.D. There's a lot more I'm interested, but my backlog is big enough already.

Damn that Stray Cat Rock collection is a phenomenal price. Bought the Region B set from Arrow direct for $35 last year :-(

All the boxed sets are extremely good deals (and even the 2-disc Blood Bath). I spent maybe a dollar less to get the American Horror Project at the Barnes & Noble last year, but that required an online coupon or some such.

Re: Arrow Video sale at Familyvideo - titles start at $9.49

I went for three:

Blood and Black Lace
Blood Bath
Dark Water

I'd been meaning to pick up Dark Water anyway, as it's one of my favorite J-Horror films. Blood and Black Lace is probably my overall favorite Bava film, so that was a no-brainer as well. The Blood Bath set, at that price, was too intriguing to pass up.

Are all of the titles region-free, does anyone know? Thanks.

The list appears to be only their US releases which are region A or region free. In for CHUD and Dark Water. wish I had not already picked up Bride of Re-Animator for far more than this sale price.

Apparently the PQ of 'Dark Water' leaves a lot to be desired as inferred from bluray.com's review - very low contrast and artificially brightened up. Hence passed on it.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just picked up Cemetery Without Crosses for a great price.

Dang, I just picked up a used copy of Outlaw Gangster VIP a couple weeks ago for around $30, and I thought I got a great deal.

Can't create a new account, because my email is supposedly already in use.

Can't reset password, because their system never sends the reset emails.

Can't send an email using the "Contact Us' page, because of unspecified errors.

Family Video can choke on pig cock.

Weird. I likewise had to reset my password (because of a few years of inactivity), but the reset email arrived ok. Check your junkmail? Blocked senders list? Got an alternate email address?

Thanks for sharing. Other reviews say differently and it's certainly better than the DVD.

I had zero issues using the reset password option. Clicked reset password, received email, changed my password. I had not ordered from them in well over a year before this recent order.

Since it's unlikely Dark Water -- not to mention countless other films -- will ever get better or more definitive editions in the future, and considering that there's as many online reviews reasonably praising this release as damning it, I'd say it's wiser to grab it at Family Video's price than hold out for any kind of improvement. Also, considering the film was practically designed to be low-contrast, I don't really understand some assessments that it shouldn't look that way. Then again, I rarely find enough 'technical' consensus among online Blu-Ray reviewers on anything to pass on a titles I'm interested in at this point in the game, especially at prices as low as this.

That's exactly why I pulled the trigger. I saw the one bad review that was linked to, but I also saw others that basically stated they did what they could given the source. What's the alternative? Buying the equally problematic DVD?

Re: Arrow Video sale at Familyvideo - titles start at $9.49

Many (maybe all) of the prices have gone up since this morning! The ones I was interested in for $9.49 and $11.49 are now $12.99. $12.49 and $13.49 up to $15.99. Still good deals but it is annoying. Is this typical for Family Video? It's been a long time since I ordered from them.

Re: Arrow Video sale at Familyvideo - titles start at $9.49

Thanks for the feedback, guys, but I know enough to check my spam folder. And even if I didn't, it was mentioned in the instructions I read over and over again each time I fruitlessly followed them.

I set up a new account with a brand-new email address. But is it just me, or did the prices on a lot of items increase overnight? I had Day of Anger, Cemetery Without Crosses, and Recquieaseananaeat in my cart last night and the total was under forty bucks. Now they are all $15.99 apiece.

I reiterate my suggestion to Family Video regarding porcine genitals.

If we're going to have comparison to BN once again, it also worth noting again that most of us are changed tax by BN, and very few are charged tax by FV.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure now my problems with the website coincided with them "correcting" the prices. The higher prices are a deal-killer for me as I was blind-buying these items to take advantage of the sale.

Have I mentioned what Family Video can do with hog privates?

You win some, you lose some. No need to lose your head or work yourself up - retailer is free to set their prices as they deem necessary.

How long does it usually take for Family Video to process an order? This was my first order with them, and it's still in the "processing" stage after eight days. Just wondering.

My order from the 14th is in the same boat. It also says "Please be aware this is a preorder.", which...no, these titles have been out for months.
