Warning: Oldies.com
I ordered 11 blu's during their recent sale. I received 5 & a whopping $15 refund. They charged the same shipping for 5 blu's as for 11. I also got an extremely rude cs rep, who finally told me to call their Pay Pal specialist tomorrow.
No email asking if I wanted to go through with the order, no apologies, no nothing. This more then doubled the shipping cost per disc, & to add insult to injury the ones I didn't get (especially Saboteur) were the ones I wanted the most. If I don't get a significant refund & a promise that today's rude cs rep will be talked to or fired; I'm done with Oldies.

Re: Warning: Oldies.com
There was a complication with my recent Oldies.com order too. I ordered an Alpha DVD and 2 magazines and paid via PayPal. When I received my order, the packing slip indicated that 1 magazine had been shipped and that there was a credit added to my account for the other magazine they didn't ship. The instructions on the packing slip said to enclose the packing slip with my next order to get the credit. My online account didn't have any information about the credit. In the past, they've refunded or not charged for unshipped items immediately.
I decided to mail the packaging list with another Alpha DVD order and a check for the difference. About a week later (2 weeks from my original order), I received a PayPal notification that Oldies.com had issued a refund for the magazine they didn't ship. They haven't cashed my check for the second order so now I don't know if they are going to return it and or bill me for the difference.

I'll be curious to see how these issues work out. I haven't ordered from them in ages, mostly because my wants list for catalog title DVD's is finally very short, and because I can typically find what I want for less elsewhere. They've always been a little disorganized, but I'd like to think one of their virtues is that they still offer telephone support. Offering credit instead of a refund smacks of financial issues, as has been speculated in other threads. My sister lived and worked in Philadelphia for roughly 15 years, and on the weekends she visited our parents would remark about the friendliness of the staff at local restaurants. Sadly, "City of Brotherly Love" may be just a slogan today.
I may consider one more Alpha order before shifting to Sinister Cinema for my poverty row horror/mystery/suspense titles. Alpha could have tried upping their game (maybe a sister label "Zeta"?) with high-quality transfers, but today they seem under assault from all sides.

I will not be ordering from them again. What's the point of a great deal if they're oos & end up effectively charging me more WITHOUT MY CONSENT on the filler?
I hope they read this; bad cs has cost them a long time customer.

I totally agree with you as they have really become bad the last few months time with their service and inventory and overpricing of materials and the like.

Oldies saw one of my posts & refunded the shipping.

I still haven't received my mail-in order. I contacted customer service and was told they mailed it this morning, but they couldn't provide me with a tracking number.

Re: Warning: Oldies.com
I finally received my DVD! I've been a customer since 2007 and this was the first time I've had a problem with my order. I'm glad the problem was resolved, but I won't be buying anything from Oldies.com anytime soon.
