Criterion Flash Sale 50% off in stock DVD/Blu-ray 2/28/2017 Noon ET

www.criterion.com

24 hour Flash Sale to start at Noon ET Tuesday 2/28/2017
Promo Code LOVE (May be case sensitive) Clock shows 25hrs so maybe until 1pm ET tomorrow
50% off MSRP on all instock DVD/Blu-rays

General rules:
Free Shipping for US for $50+. I think shipping is only to US and Canada (sorry EU)

In stock items only so no preorders. Items that go OOS during the sale can't be backordered but the last couple sales did come back into stock at least once as they released/found/borrowed extra copies

Normally 24 hours though there is often a soft landing and is extended a few minutes to a few hours esp if the server gets hammered too badly.

Free $50 GC is normally sent as soon as you meet the $500 cumulative purchase total. Last time I made an order that put me over the top and
the GC was in my box almost as soon of the order confirmation. Second order was placed a few minutes later

With the recent Target Buy 2 Get 1 sale and the price error on the Before Trilogy there are currently no Criterions I need. Shame to waste a 50% off sale.

This sounds right. There's usually a 50% sale around this time.

To be fair, though, 50% is better than B2G1F.

I've been holding onto a criterion.com gift card I got for Christmas in anticipation of this sale, so I'm excited. Definitely getting His Girl Friday at a minimum.

That depends on how they were priced before the B2G1F. There were many Criterion titles that could be had for slightly more than 50% off. Many were priced at 27.99.

Yes the Criterions i bought were priced at $26.19 each, so after the sale price was applied they came to under $18 each before tax which is better than the $20 each they will be at the Criterion Flash sale. If I recall correctly, being from NY, I am charged tax during Criterion Flash Sale.

There is also the Red Card discount which factors in on Target orders.

D'oh, you're right. I was thinking MSRP.

The Target, BN, and Criterion deal all are very good for different reasons and I think most of us can still ignor Amazon's mostly less than stellar deals on the majority of Criterions.
That was my problem during the Target sale, especially as I was diligent about keeping all my "trios" at the exact same price point to get the best deal. There were only two Criterions that I was interested in, and nothing I could add from other distributors at the same price.

I'm quite satisfied with Criterion's points system, though. I've earned two or three $50 rewards so far which in a sense works out to a belated discount on all the individual titles purchased during their Flash sales.

Though the site was slow loading images, I didn't have any issues adding things to my cart and checking out. I picked up:
Heart of a Dog
Lone Wolf and Cub
A Touch of Zen

Thanks for the heads up. I grabbed the Classic Hitchcock box plus His Girl Friday and finally Modern Times.

I picked up His Girl Friday and The Asphalt Jungle. There's obviously more I want, but I still haven't watched some of the titles from the last B&N sale, so I figured there's no need for a backlog.

Is Mildred Pierce not part of the sale? --Peter

EDIT -- Sorry, apparently you have to re-enter the code if you add something new to your cart. --Peter

Is the free shipping threshold before or after discount?

Thanks hariseldon for the heads up. I jumped on a few titles that weren't available at Target during their 3 for 2 sale.

I still had my Facebook $10 promo credit, so I placed an order for The Brood, Valley of the Dolls and The Hidden Fortress. Since it looks like B&N won't allow coupons during their 50% off sales anymore, this was probably the best price I could get.
