ENIGMA 8 - new album in 2015
Funny I started the last thread for their previous album back in 2008. But after their official site and Facebook page have been dead for years, it looks like Cretu is finally releasing a new album. Details are non-existent as of now, so hopefully they'll put a press release out soon. Looking forward to it.

Good news, he's working on it now. Bad news, he just started working on this, so it's a year out at least. But the least he could do is smile for once.

So a solid year after the announcement, the album will be officially announced Tuesday August 8th called The Fall of a Rebel Angel. Some are saying the announcement is August 8th, others are saying that's the pre-order for a release of November 11th. Per the clues on the Facebook page, guest vocals include Anggun, Aquilo, and Alise Ketnere who sang the vocals on The Social Song in 2010.

Wow I'm so happy! I own all the Enigma albums and singles. I can't wait!
“Sadeness (Part II)”, a sequel to their 1990 chart-topper “Sadeness (Part I)” will appear on The Fall of A Rebel Angel. Also featured on the record are Indonesian songstress Anggun, English electro duo Aquilo, Brazilian singer Mark Josher, and Israeli folk band Nanuk. Enigma last put out 2010’s “MMX (The Social Song),” a collaborative fan song in honor of their 20th anniversary.
View the tracklist for The Fall of A Rebel Angel, now available for pre-order on iTunes, below. Fans who pre-order will receive an instant download of “Sadeness (Part II)” on Oct. 10.

The only kind of bummer so far is it seems all pre-orders are for $40. I just want the regular album and don't need all the narrated tracks in different languages. Here's hoping a standard CD edition is available. Buying it day one either way.
It also looks like they're going to reveal one track a week starting next week. I'd rather hear it all for the first time at once but it's going to be very hard to stay away.

I don't mind the wait for November. I'll probably buy the regular and limited editions.
I can't see myself previewing the tracks one by one in advanced. I rather wait for the full album release on CD of course.

So the chapters are opening up, a week at a time. After all these years, we finally hear some new stuff - all 17 seconds of it. And Cretu talks about the album in a video on Facebook. Also looks like each little piece of music will be on Soundcloud. The chapters are also on enigmaspace.com

I too will just wait for the full album. Since my chances of not liking it are about 1% I'll be pre-ordering one of the CD versions. Which one will depend on the final content and price.

Well I was guessing the clips would be small, and the first one certainly is. But I tell you what, it definitely sounds like Enigma. Something I've missed for years, so it's really nice hearing something new again. I'm guessing it may be worth the wait.

Yep, same here. I've been listening to the sound bites, and those little stories he's putting up for them. I'm definitely not going to judge the album based on those, but so far it seems like some could be really good mixed with some songs just okay. On the fence about Sadness Pt. II, which has Anngun singing it. Single for that has already been released.

I never listened to Social Song because frankly I didn't care to hear anything created that way.
I'm looking forward to hearing this and I have stayed away from any clips so I can have a fresh experience of listening to the whole album.

I'm very surprised to hear that kind of reaction to Social Song. I thought it was an interesting experiment, and the overall sound is definitely Cretu's Enigma.
Bunkaroo, I think that's the best approach, to avoid the snippets until you hear the whole thing. I kind of wish I did now, because the parts I heard don't really mesh well, but I know the full songs will flow a lot better in full and connected with each other.
