Re: Shout Factory ScreamShocktober sale is back!

Looks like another shitfest.

It would be nice if they just offered free shipping with no minimums, or let us hold our orders. Considering how many of the things I bought from them two years ago were out of stock and didn't ship until November, they might as well let us bank our orders.

I would consider picking up ROTLD, but there's nothing I want to match it up with.

I too would buy ROTLD but already have the titles I would pair it with.

I guess I'm "lucky" in that I don't own any of the cheap bin titles yet. But I'm not sure if I want any of them, and definitely won't order without the free shipping.

I may bite on Carrie or The Thing if they show up next week.

Yeah, it seems like they're trying to get you to bite on ROTLD (and other top shelf titles) and then buy a d-lister to get free shipping.

Homey don't play that.

I don't know if the exclamation mark is warranted in this threads title

So far, yes. But given my tastes and the history of some good deals in this annual sale, I was being optimistic.

Do any of the Shout Factory blu-rays have the resume function? I watched Pumpkinhead and its featurettes over the past couple of days and was irritated to no end having to sit through all the start-up menus every time. --Peter (not to mention the Stan Winston 50-minute tribute had NO chapter breaks...)

Re: Shout Factory ScreamShocktober sale is back!

And ROTLD is back to the normal price. Unless they add a new set of lesser titles I guess i'm not ordering anything this year. I've ordered at least a couple every year for the last few years since the list of lesser titles was far better.

But IIRC, there was another site that put a lot of their titles on sale during the same time fame. I remember getting a few of last year's new releases that way since they were not included in their own "Shocktober" sale. I just don't remember which site it was.

It may be my favorite film of the series, but probably too rich for my blood given the lack of quality cheap titles. I can live with my collectors set on DVD.

Probably for the best since you'll never open it or watch it.

Paid $19.99 for it release week. It's a great looking BD with lots and lots of extras.

...with all the stuff that's been released and all the sales that have been going on since this past summer, Scream Factory is gonna have to offer much better pricing to do a cash grab from my wallet.

All the deals feel about $2 higher than previous sales, and aren't immediately compelling.

Or coasters. Those extras are how I know I've purchased things during this sale in years past. Still got all of that extra swag laying around, still in the wrapping they came in.

I hate this yearly fiasco from Shout! because everything SHOULD be on sale at the same freakin' time so I can pick and choose what I want.

I have so much "swag" like these laying around or mostly stored away. I guess I store knick-knacks like this away thinking that maybe one day I'll have a "horror room" or other nicer display for trinkets and posters and collectibles. Well, I finally decided to quit that attitude and just use or toss the stuff. Those magnets are going on the fridge when I find them.

True, but I have been wanting to get "The Car" and "Phantom of the Paradise" so I may cave.

Agree. I usually hesitate because I'm afraid there's a better deal coming the next day or two, and then I end up buying nothing at all. Adding a dollar or so to the price at the end of the sale then makes the deal less of a deal, so I end up buying nothing. Happens every time.

Re: Shout Factory ScreamShocktober sale is back!

I was going to buy ROTLD and Phantom Of Paradise but I wanted to see what else they revealed. Then they took ROTLD away. So I think I am just going to wait for a price drop from Amazon or coupon from DD.

I agree with others that their habit of not putting everything on sale at once is detrimental. But obviously not enough to keep them from doing it in some way sale after sale. I will stick to buying my Shout/Scream Factory purchases from other retailers. You would think they would want the direct sales.

Re: Shout Factory ScreamShocktober sale is back!

This is a weird way to run a sale...I wanted to get ROTLD and was hoping that The Lady in White or Phantasm 2 would go on sale at the same time....this grayed-out crap is lame.
