That's one way to end a series.
Seriously, I'm okay with the way this ended.

I've read spoilers for the finale and I'm not quite sure what to make of it...

It ended quite differently than the Red Dragon movie. The TV series had Will and Hannibal be more like brothers than anything, and the way this ended just kept that whole dynamic going. It's unfortunate that the show ended. I'd have liked to see where they'd have gone if given the chance to venture back into original territory.

I really enjoyed it, but I'm sad there won't be any more. No real possibility of a pickup, based on that.
The Chilton stuff is just disturbing. They did a great job with that.
Interesting that Bedelia's meal looked strikingly like a Monarch butterfly caterpillar. A nod to Silence of the Lambs, of a sort.
A real shame this couldn't have gotten into real SOTL territory.

I would have loved to see it, but I cannot fathom how they would have done Silence of the Lambs. In the movies Graham is just a cop chasing down a bad guy, but in this show Graham and Hannibal are twisted soul mates. So I can't imagine Hannibal being fascinated by a Clarice stand in if Will is still around. Shame we won't see how Fuller would have handled this.
I'm really satisfied with how the show ended. This episode works great as a series finale. The real shame is I feel like in the last few episodes we really started to see Hannibal show his true evil side to people. I would have loved to see Mads do his riff on how Hopkins was just so outwardly evil in Silence.

That was absolutely fantastic. If that is the end they went out on a hell of a note. But seeing all the post mortum interviews with Fuller makes me want to keep hope alive

I thought the ending was breathtaking. If that was truly the end of the series, it served decent closure --- all things considered.
There is talk about continuing on with a movie, but I don't fully expect it'll happen.

Are we positive that we are to take the ending literally?
Maybe it was a metaphor for Will embracing Hannibal and then going over the edge with him? The fall over the cliff had a surreal quality to it, and will is prone to having visions and hallucinations. There wre no bodies visible, either falling, splashing, or on the ground, when the camera panned over the cliff.
Also note that during Bedelia's post-credit scene that there are two empty chairs at the table...

I thought the finale was superb, and loved the Siouxsie Sioux song at the end it was perfect. I am happy with how it ended & that it didn't go all Dexter on us; however, if it comes back in any form I will be thrilled.

That was crazy. Damn it. Such a great show. At least we got a sort of appropriate ending.

Not knowing anything about the source material, I thought the ending of this incarnation was perfect. The look Will and Hannibal exchanged before going crazy on Dollarhyde gave me chills. Both of them able to share who they really are with each other.

Bryan Fuller said in an interview that that someone has her, that's why she is hiding the fork.

At first I assumed it was just Hannibal that had her. But Josh mentioned the 2 empty chairs. Plus a whole human leg is way too much for 2 people to eat. I'm thinking Will may be the 3rd dinner guest. Especially given her and Will's interactions. I thought the ending was perfect but the dinner revelation if true would have made for a very interesting 4th season.

However, I'd love to see more, and I could live with your interpretation.

Opposed to the other shit they have endured? This whole last season treated Will as a pin cushion. Add in he's basically been gutted.

I thought it was a pretty terrible season but I will always appreciate the perfect season two and really good season 1.
Season 2 was pretty much the best season in network tv history.

okay way to end the series. Thought Hannibal and Will were going to make out there at the end. Got bored at the end but I want a Bedelia spin off!
They totally sidelined Alana Bloom. I don't even know why she was in half the episodes this season anyway.

And Bedelia was being served her own leg. They took a moment to focus on her leg. Hannibal lived and (they both?) went to have a nice meal.
