True Blood (S7E09) -- "Love Is to Die" -- 8/17/14

Sookie (Anna Paquin) retreats in confusion. Sam (Sam Trammell) makes a choice. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) exercises uncharacteristic restraint, while Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) faces a dilemma after being caught in a lie.

Written by Brian Buckner; directed by Howard Deutch.

The Ginger and Eric sex scene was hilarious

Happy Hoyt and Jessica are back together.

Lame send off for Sam.

I thought it was decent. Or at least not as bad as the previous ones.

So I guess there are a lot of thins happening in the last episode.

I missed a big bad guy this season.

This show really needed a big bad this season.

Without it, we get...this. There's just no urgency with anything. It wasn't the worst episode all season, but it was dull. Very dull. Who cares?

Re: True Blood (S7E09) -- "Love Is to Die" -- 8/17/14

That was absolutley fantastic imho. Phenomenal penultimate episode. Nothing to complain about there. I knew alot of secondary characters would get set-offs here (Ginger totally stole the show though). I'm probably biased on this one cause I've been a huge fan of Hoyt and Jessica since the get go. That was a real thril for me. It must be nice to be the editor that strategically cut away from Deborah Ann Woll's nipple shots. I thought Jasons ending was predictable but satisfying. I was surprised by Sam's ending...but its better than it was in the books. But for the most part I was throughly happy with everything that went on here. By my count that makes it 6 good episodes this year and 3 horrible ones. Quite the comeback.

Two notes for everyone; Anna Paquin and Steven Moyer will be acting together again on Sons of Anarchy this year according to Kurt Sutter. Also, the ending is actually out there so be careful googling the show.

Ok...bye Sam? What a good send-off for him. Did Tara have more scenes this Season?

Please, please don't let them show up on Sons of Anarchy. I've suffered enough.

And spoilers have been out since July. I kept hoping that they wouldn't come true, but alas, I think they will.

Not really, just those dumb visions her mom kept having of her. I wish they killed her off a few seasons ago. So far, it's been an okay ending, I guess we've all endured worse series endings. I would have preferred a loud and violent one, as most of them are vampires.

Why is Eric such a fucking pussy whenever he's around ninjas?

Go back and watch the first season. Eric was an unstoppable badass who could have taken down two hundred Navy Seals in the blink of an eye. Now he shits his pants when a Japanese guy dangles a silver necklace in front of him.

Good to see Sam get his 'ending' but it was kind of lame (A good bye letter).

Ginger finally got to have sex with Eric, that was hilarious.

Hoyt/Jessica have their ending.

Jason and Bridgett looks like they are going to go off into the sunset.

Look likes everyone has open storylines outside of Sookie/Bill Eric/Pam.

I hope Bill dies.

When you saw Eric drop off Sookie you could tell he still had feelings for her (As his eyes twitched whens he asked him inside)

I still don't buy Hoyt and Jessica being better than Jason/Jessica. But whatever, this season was pretty fucking boring.

I gotta agree. I liked H/J in the beginning, but I liked her with Jason so much better.

I'm guessing Bill is going to need to save Sookie, and the only way he can do it is to heal himself.

I also thought I saw Sam in the promo for the finale, so perhaps he's not gone just yet.

So Eric is immune to Hep-V just because he got cured? I wouldn't think it worked that way. If he's immune, wouldn't others be able to drink HIS blood and be cured?

Yeah its a problem with True Blood. Eric is close to Godrick's age when he turned Eric and in that scene he (G) killed like 6 people in like one second. Eric in that standoff could have done the same thing. He could have killed all the Yakuza, untied Pam and had the shit kicker around the throat before they had time to react.

I thought this episode was terrible outside of Pam. Glad to see it go TBH

I was hoping that healing Hoyt would reverse the glamour. Would make sense, but they didn't go there.

I'm glad they didn't reverse the glamour, just a whole ton of pain that Hoyt had to deal with.

Re: True Blood (S7E09) -- "Love Is to Die" -- 8/17/14

Ginger and Eric's sex scene set to Mazzy Star on the Fangtasia throne was PERFECT! heck, I would have had this scene as a way to close the series. Instead, the writers have chosen to zap most of the insane fun from the show (save for Ginger/Eric/Pam) and are just moving at a tortoise pace towards the finish line.

This managed to be another crap episode even without the Bill flashbacks. Big letdown with the Jessica/Hoyt reunion.

Re: True Blood (S7E09) -- "Love Is to Die" -- 8/17/14

How great would this show have been if instead of the 7 seasons we got, it were just 3 seasons of the best storylines/characters, minus 4 seasons of all the crap stories and characters?
